I have a 9 month old and a 2 1/2 year old and I let myself get tired and frumpy. And I felt awful. So I have been making a concerted effort to wear makeup daily (even if only the family is going to see me) and dressing nicer. I'd love to dress really nice but I do have those two babies and one is still nursing so I have some limitations. But nice jeans, a top that fits and cute shoes can work wonders too. When we take the time to look pretty (or even just clean!), we send a message to both ourselves and the world that we matter. That sentiment trickles down into everything we do, from child-rearing to being a part of the community. I know when I look good, I feel confident and unstoppable, and am more likely to take risks.
