The Low Down On the Yoga Pant

<Yoga

With the new year in full swing and your workouts underway, it’s possible that you may need to upgrade your workout wardrobe.  We don’t want frumpy workout clothes, we want yummy styles that show our curves and allow us to move freely!  I asked a fellow mom and fitness enthusiast who lives in workout wear to share her favorite Yoga Pant styles with us:

“In the last few years, I’ve tried many pairs of pants. Some that sit in my closet and some that I wear every other day. The following is what I’ve found to work best for my activities- teaching, working out, or just being around town.

My absolute best pants are made by Dude Girl. These are my year round grab and go favorite pair. At $80 per pair, they are not cheap, but, how many pairs do you need? These pants fit like a glove, are fade resistant, and do not slip at all.

A great yoga pant for winter would be my Lucy Power Pants. The material is a bit thicker and are quite warm- they are not a pant I’d recommend for hot yoga, but, for all other activities, they work great. The Lucy pant could easily be worn as a “city pant” as well. It’s common for me to wear these on the weekend paired with a cute hoodie when I take the kids to the park. The Lucy Power Pant retails for $88.

Now, for the Yoga Pants for the mom budget:  I have two pairs of yoga pants with pricing on the low end which I’ve found to work just as well. In fact, I’d probably buy another pair of each, if they were sold locally to me.

First up are The Girls Yoga Apparel. Fit is fantastic, price is around $30 or less, and they have lots of basic styles to chose from. One word of caution- purchase pants in black so the sweat doesn’t show!

Lastly, we have Crush Clothing. It’s a local retailer here in California that sells online as well. They have a “Fold Over Yoga Pant” in 10 colors, price is $18 per pair and these work just fine. Since I teach five days a week and workout a minimum of 5 days per week, these are really great everyday yoga pants.

That’s it! If money is no object, I’d opt for the Flare Pant by Dude Girl and if money is very scarce The Girls Apparel or Crush Clothing can completely outfit you for a really great price.”

Editor’s Note: Do you have a baby that needs high-performance diapers like you need high-performance workout wear? I heard that Pampers is coming out with a new high performance diaper called Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max that is 20% thinner with no sacrifice in performance.  More details coming soon!
