Best and Worst Celebrity Signature Styles

“A good signature style is owned by the wearer, not the other way around.”

I’ve been on a mission lately to develop a “signature style” and have shared some of the process with you. I admire women who own their style and know what works for them. While I know what I like, I am learning what works for me and what is even possible with my hair type, skin tone and body type. While I may love the short mini, it’s a look I have to leave for my 23-year-old step-daughter. And while I think short hair is super chic and requires great confidence to pull off, I know it’s not for me.

I also know that as you age and your life evolves (the kids grow and you suddenly have time for yourself again), so does your style. Your signature style is an ongoing process. So even if you already have a “signature style”, make sure you are not stuck in a rut!

Take a look at how celebrity moms like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie, Lisa Rinna, Michelle Williams, Jenny McCarthy and other Hollywood trendsetters work their signature style and who needs an update!

I seriously am always searching for what my signature style is. And it’s super hard to really define. I want to have one style, but as you said, always searching for it.

I’m with you on that Kaolee! It’s ongoing…! Good luck with yours! :)

    3. Finding your own signature style can be a journey, but one that takes you deeper into yourself. Personal style, in my opinion, is when a women looks beautiful, feels confident and is more connected to herself. The quote from Edna Chase describes it so accurately – you can deck yourself out head to toe in designer fashion, but unless it’s truly reflective of who you are on the inside then it’s not going to do much for you. My best advice is to find several things around your home that really speak to you. Make collages, journal and find out what makes your pulse quicken when it comes to creating your look. You’ll find your personal style when you feel more, well, YOU! Good luck! If I can help with anything just let me know.

    4. Oh, and the celeb I’d love to make over the most is Madonna. Sure, she may be 50 and still look darn good, but she dresses like she’s still in her 20′s. And her haircolor is so over. Sure, she’ll always be an icon, but in my opinion she needs to bring her look up to date.

    5. Tammy says:

Michele, how right you are! She takes care of her body with her workouts but her style is a mess! Not that it’s ever been good…! But, I’m curious to hear what you would do to make her over! That would be a fun post! Interested??

    6. Tammy says:

Thanks for the input Michele! I had fun making a notebook before I got my hair done which included fashions and accessories that I really liked. It takes time to build a wardrobe into a “style” and it’s easy to get off track by grabbing something off the rack when I feel I need something rather than waiting until I find something that truly works with my overall desired look. That’s called impulse shopping and it’s something I need to work on overcoming :)
