Winter Trend: Fingerless Gloves

I bet those of you experiencing the blizzards and insane snow fall around the country think I’m totally crazy to say this but Fingerless Gloves are the winter’s must-have trend!
These versatile yet stylish gloves keep your palms warm while leaving your fingers free making it easy to touch, hold and most importantly text. From wool to leather they are the perfect accessory for any casual cold-weather look.
Stacy Novich of Complements Two, says, “Fingerless gloves are the hottest selling accessory this season. They make great holiday gifts.”
She predicts these gloves will be around for the next few winter seasons because of their functionality and versatility. Ranging in colors and styles, these chic gloves have mass appeal!
I’ve been wearing my pair from Avon that has a fold over mitten flap that keeps my fingers warm when I need them to or buttons back when I need to use my fingers. I think it’s a great combination of details.
Here are some fingerless gloves you may like:

I love the fact that we can have stylish fingerless gloves. This is quite a step up from my $1 bullseye gloves with no fingertips courtesy of Fiskars or the alternate “fingerless glove”… the sweatshirt with a strategically Fiskars created hole in the cuff so that I might put my thumb through enabling the cuff to keep my fingers free for typing and texting while keeping my hand just a bit warmer.
While I would not do it for the fashion craze I would buy into the craze because I hate the cold and I love to text.
Thanks Tammy, for mentioning my Glove Bites pattern! I also have another pair (that can be made for guys or gals) in my book, AwareKnits. Peeps can see what the Wrist Factor gloves look like here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/craftrocklove/3942794312/in/set-72157622428612658/

Thanks Vickie! Love your work, will use it when I can
Haha, kinda remind of biker/weightlifting gloves, but with a lot more style!
OMG excellent call! I love my “texting” gloves! I have a black pair and this really cool blue tie-dyed looking pair. I want to grab about four more pairs. I wear my bracelets ON TOP of the gloves for a really distinctive effect (at first I felt a bit like ’80’s Debbie Gibson but, they’re not neon lace, so we’re good)
Good call on the gloves!
As long as you are wearing TWO gloves, Tina, I think you’ll avoid the whole 80’s vibe (or Hannah Montana!)
Yeah, the leather gloves do remind me of weight-lifting gloves, Sam. Not sure I am too into those but I adore the knit (especially in cashmere! hello?! NICE)!
