This outfit is featured on Avenue.com, a site for women’s clothing sizes 14-32. I like this look for several reasons:
1. It is casual and cozy for chilly days. It has layers so you can peel off the vest and even the long sleeve hoodie if you get too warm.
2. It offers a great pop of color with the orange top. Also offered in 7 other colors.
3. The v-neck on the orange top, over the straight line of the tank creates an interesting line that shows just enough skin to be sexy.
4. The shoes are flat and made for comfort. The metallic, quilted pattern is a very modern look.
5. The wide-leg pant is slimming as it creates a straight line down that camouflages heavy thighs.
6. The model has a great silouhette. Her clothes fit properly. A mistake that many plus size women make is wearing clothing that is too big for them. If you wear big and baggy, you’ll look big and baggy. No matter your size, find fitted (I’m not talking tight…) clothing to compliment your assets!
7. The entire outfit retails for less than $150!
Plus, the model’s hair is just gorgeous. You can recreate this look by spraying volumizing tonic on the roots. Blow dry with a large round brush, then wrap sections of hair around a medium-barrel curling iron leaving ends free. The trick here is to go in opposite directions to create the illusion of volume & natural curl. For extra-fullness, apply saltwater spray as a last step.

I learned something new (#5 about wide-leg pants being slimming). I always assumed that wide-leg pants did just that, made my leg look wide.
And the other thing that I’m already in the process of learning, but needed to hear again, was #6 when you said that many plus size women make the mistake of wearing clothes that are too big for them. I used to think that if I wore big & baggy clothes it would help me ‘hide’ behind my plus size body but instead it only made me feel worse about myself and made me look sloppy! I’m enjoying learning to dress my body and not ook sloppy!
