The Most Versitle Head Gear in History

From the runway to the military fields, everyone loves a beret (maybe it’s because it’s most often associated with France?!).  Berets can be worn by both men and women, can be very stern looking (reminding us of military style) or can be sweet and feminine like this luxurious angora blend beret:

Tips for wearing a beret:

  • Frame your face: Leave your hair down and place the beret an inch or so past your hairline. If you want to cover your head more, make sure you have some bangs or a few strands around your face pulled out.
  • Wear it slouchy: Don’t pull the beret tightly over your head. Leave the beret slouchy and loose. Tilt it back on your head or slightly to one side like a Parisian Glamour Girl would.  Soft material, instead of stiff fabric, make this easier to do.  A knit beret is a great style to start with as it is already slouchy in structure.
  • With a beret that has seams, it looks best with a little volume, so don’t flatten it out too much on your head.
  • Wear with confidence: You won’t look good pulling at your beret all day long because you are feeling unsure about the look.  Practice wearing it at home if you think you need time to get used to the style.

This is such a adorable hat. Definitely not something I would be able to pull off but it looks so cute on others.
