Summertime makeup is all about the golden glow. As we wind the summer down and head into Back-to-School season, I, for one, am interested in keeping the look of a sun-kissed face for a while longer! I asked Loren Ridinger, creator of Motives by Loren Ridinger makeup line, to share with us her tips for achieving a beautiful glow. Here are her tips:
The four main elements to a pretty and natural looking sun–kissed face (minus the self-tanner) are:
- a quality brush
- a good bronzer
- a good moisturizer
- natural light
A good, soft brush will help the bronzer go on smoothly, not blotchy. Also, be sure to choose the right bronzer for your skin tone. I usually go two shades darker than my natural skin tone. My shade: Motives® bronzer in Miami Glow.
Follow these tips for a perfect glow:
- Always apply bronzer in natural light. Over application can create orange skin; this is exactly the look you’re trying to avoid!
- Apply a moisturizer first to avoid streaking. Be sure to apply it minimally, otherwise your skin may end up looking dirty.
- Swirl your brush in the bronzer and tap it on the back of your hand to remove any excess powder.
- Apply the bronzer to the areas of the face that the sun would naturally hit: forehead, down the nose, along the cheeks, and on your chin. Blend well.
