Today is the first fall-like day in So Cal! I’m so happy to have on jeans! While the direct sun is still very warm and temperatures are reported to rise in the next few days, the air has a cool feel and I’m dreaming of apple picking with my kids soon!
With the change of season, there are some transitional items that I’m looking to get to make the ease into fall fashion easy. Here are my picks:
- fall makeup is darker, including nail color. Colors like deep purple and army green are shades to embrace!
- red jeans. Either in skinny or wide-leg, whichever is your style. I personally like this wide-leg style, makes me feel less like a stuffed sausage.
- key accessories like heels and handbags should be bright colors to embrace the “brights” trend and compliment the neutral shades of fall
- stylish hat! Find one that is unique and a heavier fabric than a summer hat, like wool or knit.
- a tunic that can be used as a dress or over jeans/leggings. Versatility is key!
- a long cardigan that works to dress up over trousers for a night out or over jeans for a chic daytime look.
- statement jewelry. I’m still favoring large rings.
- new perfume! I am really enjoying the new DKNY Golden Delicious perfume! It’s a glamorous scent that is richer than the original DKNY Delicious.

I love sweaters over turtlenecks. The fall colors of burnt orange and browns with bright accents are great for fall.
