Today is the beginning of National Women’s Business Week (October 18-22). As a woman with an entrepreneurial spirit, I love to hear about the stories of women who succeed in business. Tory Burch is one such woman and she is helping others see their dreams come true too!

Lifestyle designer, Tory Burch announces the launch of a special collection to benefit the Tory Burch Foundation*. It includes great gifts, from a Pop Art silk scarf and leather wrap bracelets to key chains and a sunflower pendant, inspired by a necklace Tory’s father Buddy had made for his mother. The sunflower is also the foundation’s symbol and is featured on all foundation products. All proceeds from sales benefit the Tory Burch Foundation.

“This is a collection of gifts that give back,” says Tory Burch. “I am honored to donate the proceeds from these sales to help women entrepreneurs achieve their goals.”

Included in this special collection is Tory’s second limited edition compilation CD. All proceeds from the CD benefit Accion USA, the microfinance partner for the Tory Burch Foundation, which works to provide economic opportunities to women and their families in the U.S. “This is a perfect way to combine two of my passions—music and giving back to the community,” says Burch. Burch has personally chosen the songs featured on the CD, and the list reflects her eclectic taste in music. The CD includes Citizen Cope with Carlos Santana, Kanye West, K’naan, Michael Franti, Neville Brothers, Santigold, The Smiths and Wyclef Jean.

The CD is available exclusively at Tory Burch boutiques and on for $16.99.

*About Tory Burch Foundation: Tory launched the Tory Burch Foundation in 2009 to economically empower women. In partnership with ACCION USA, the Foundation supports women through mentoring and microfinance; women are able to start and grow their own businesses, in turn helping their communities, revitalizing local economies and providing for their families.

I LOVE the fact that Tory supports and women to become empowered through business. Do you have a need or a desire to help? Visit to find out more about how the foundation empowers and supports women in business!

  1. My dream is to start a design agency where kids and recent grads can work under a seasoned mentor for a year before they enter the workforce. The agencies account list would be made up of non-profits, with those benefitting children’s groups being the priority. The goal is to give kids who may not be appropriate for the traditional clasroom, but have gone to art school a chance to have the training and mentoring needed to become a professional.

  2. Congrats Christy! You win! Your idea is fantastic and I hope you are able to acheive that…maybe with Tory’s help?
