Top 6 Beauty Benefits Found in Hotels

I love going to hotels for obvious reasons:  it means I’m out of my normal routine and that’s fun; it means I don’t have to make the bed, vacuum or clean the bathroom floor after my “boys”; it means I can eat out instead of cooking!  But there are six other reasons I love staying at a hotel and they are all beauty related!

Top 6 Beauty Benefits Found in Hotels:

  1. Hot Water…instantly!  My own bathroom is the furthest point from the hot water heater.  It takes forever to get warm water to my sink so I wash my face with cold water every night.  It feels so good to place a warm wash cloth over my face when I stay in a hotel.  It’s a luxury, really.
  2. Sample Products.  Granted most hotels do not supply fabulous bliss products like the W Hotel does in NY but I like testing out the lotions and body wash in each hotel.
  3. Magnifying mirror.  I don’t own one (I know I should) so when I get to a hotel with one, I am always shocked at the little brow hairs that need removing.  I have a grand time tweezing!  My brows always look great after a hotel stay!
  4. Blowdryer.  I just love that I don’ t have to pack my own.  While the wattage is usually lower than my own and it takes longer to get my hair dry, I am happy to have the room in my suitcase for an extra pair of shoes.
  5. Blackout Curtains.  Shouldn’t we all own a pair in our home bedrooms?  It’s so great to sleep in with a dark room.  Even the kids don’t know it is already 9 AM when they wake up!  Beauty sleep is priceless!
  6. Clean pillowcases.  I know the bedding is changed after each visitor leaves so the pillowcases are fresh and clean.  Did you know you should change your own pillowcase every few days since dead skin cells, facial oil and saliva build up on your pillowcases?  Clean pillowcases help your facial skin stay clean while you sleep.  I don’t know about you but I’m not very consistent at changing my pillowcases every few days at home.

Of course, there is the jacuzzi, along with spa and beauty services but I rarely get to enjoy those treats when traveling.  Taking advantage of what is available in the room makes my stay enjoyable and beautiful!
