The Moroccan Rose Collection: Roseflower Lips

    By Tammy | February 24, 2009

The Body Shop and all of their products have long been a favorite of mine. Most of the items that I have used have been great! So,where does this sweet shade of pink lipstick from The Moroccan Rose Collection fit in?

At first, I wasn’t too sure. I was not sold on the lipstick initially.  The color was so sheer, it was just the hint of lipstick that you’d need to run to the store or do a few errands. It was very soft and conditioning to my lips.

You can definitely tell that their is a touch of beeswax and oil in the lipstick formula. It left my lips feeling very smooth, sexy and totally not chapped. I tend to lick my lips a lot when I don’t have lipstick on so I suffer from dry lips…The Roseflower Lips truly gave me a softer more sensuous mouth. My husband enjoyed it!

The only drawback I found in this lipstick was that it tended to bleed because of the conditioning formula. It felt a bit heavy on my lips and wasn’t something I would wear on a night out. I tried Shade 03 – Deep pink and it truly looks like the picture of Shade 02-True Pink…it has much more of a pink tint to it then the picture reflects.

Where do I fall between loving and not liking this product? I love it! Yes, I love it! When you visit the website you’ll see that The Roseflower Lips was created to help establish a protective layer on the skin, which helps to reduce moisture loss. It definitely did that, as my husband can attest too. It was designed to give you a “wash” of color and a “sheer” glamorous look. The entire collection of The Moroccan Rose is fresh, light and natural.

I forget that not all lipsticks are created equally or for the same purpose. Not every piece of makeup is meant to be for a glam look.

The Roseflower lips receives a “A” in my book because the product does exactly as it claims. It gives you the precise look and feel that it states it will and by using products from Zambia the The Body Shop has enabled the communities to improve the standard of education for the children of Zambia. What’s not to love about a product and company that does that?

    Editor’s Note:
Beauty Tip: Smooth on a few layers of Roseflower Lips Shade 01: Soft Pink, and then dab a bit of Roseflower Lips Shade 03: Deep Pink onto the center of the lower lip. This little trick makes lips appear more full and luscious.
