Saturday I spent the majority of the day at the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills. During one of the many conversations with the staff, I was introduced to TanTowel. My celebrity color stylist, Amanda George, and her two assistants, raved about how wonderful the TanTowel works.
I asked more questions and discovered:
- The TanTowel is a large enough towel (towel measures 12″x9″) that you can reach your back and apply yourself, much like running a towel on your back to dry it after a shower.
- The TanTowel does not leave streaks! Something I seriously thought was impossible for sunless tanners! All 3 had beautiful tans and NO streaks! TanTowel contains no stains or dyes so you will not see any immediate color. The only way any discoloration will appear is if you miss a spot (or if you apply to wet skin), so be thorough in your application.
- You can use it on your face. Amanda recommends using the towel on your face after it is nearly dry of product and you’ve completed the rest of your body.
- The product comes in 2 shades: light/medium or medium to dark.
- Unlike other self-tanners, the TanTowel doesn’t have a chemical smell. It has a fresh citrus smell that dissipates within 5 minutes.

Ok so…. you have to post after you get this. I really want to see the results! I am one of those that tans really dark and easily, but self-tanners look fake. So I want to see this!! (it sounds so nice and easy too!)
I have been using Tan Towel for a few months and I love the results. The color is not orange but a nice natural brown. Super easy to apply with no mess. This is my fave by far!

I’m confused by the back thing, but still think that it would be worth a shot!
James, instead of having someone else apply a sunless tanner lotion to your back for you, you can reach all the spots on your back with the towel yourself. You know how you dry off your back with your towel by placing the towel diagonal on your back and glide the towel back and forth to remove the water? Same thing here only you are applying the moisture from the TanTowel to your back for a tan.
I just tried the towel for the first time last night. NICE results!! I do see a few spots that I missed but NO streaking at all where I applied! Full
