I absolutely love the tough, rocker-chic look of edgy boots with short dresses! This summer more and more fashion-forward moms are keeping their boots at the front of the closet to be worn all year round.
My friend recently asked me when to put the boots away for the season. My response? Don’t! Boots look cute with short dresses and skirts, as well as shorts. They add an unexpected edge to an outfit that may otherwise be anything but interesting. As long as it’s not a sweltering 100 degrees in the blazing sun, wearing boots is fashionable and functional!
Summer style boots can include peep-toe, ankle, cuffed, slouchy and knee-high- just stay away from the fleece!
My most recent boot craving is this great pair of Ballard Tall Lace Belt Boot by Wanted Shoes in tan. These boots triggered a giddy reaction in me. Just look at that lace-up detail! Edgy, fun and worth keeping out year round!

What’s your opinion? Should boots be worn in the summer or put away until Fall?

It really is about 100 degrees here right now. Sweltering. This is the one time of year that I sometimes question living in AZ.
I think boots are fabulous year-round. As long as the weather is right, I think they work anytime – summer, spring, winter, or fall.
love your new craving. very nice.
I love boots. Truly, they are one of my favorite types of shoes, along with heels, flats, sandals…yeah! um… you get the picture.
I would wear boots during the summer (during the cool of the evening) but wouldn’t be able to do it during the day…I’d die.
The boots would look cute but I’d look terrible sweating all over the place, lol
I love the way this looks, but I don’t know if I could do it when it’s sooooo hot out! It would have to be a style worn on a mild summer day. It is a hot look though.
I live in a tropical country and I love to wear them with dresses. But people give me looks. *sigh*.
I think for those of us living in the heat can pull off this look in the evenings if going on a date to an indoor location or perhaps a concert. I’m going to a concert on Saturday and I do plan to wear boots (though not the Lace boots above since they are out of my size in tan….boo).
Peep-toe boots, cut-out boots and ankle boots are much more versatile in the summer.
i would like wearing these boots on a mild summer day.i like these boots.they are chic and elegant.
