Skin Care Is A Daily Commitment. Are You Committed?

Your skin is the first line of defense from pollution, wind, sun and temperature changes. Working to protect your skin is a daily commitment. Want proof? Look at your hands and neck, two of the most frequently forgotten areas that get missed when the SPF is slathered on. Age spots, wrinkles and dry skin are evidence of neglect. By simply being conscientious of your skin care, your skin will be healthier, longer to protect you.

Protect your skin and care for it with Eucerin Everyday Protection Body Lotion with SPF 15 or the Face Lotion with SPF 30! Both offer protection from incidental sun exposure and free radical damage while intensive moisturizers relieve your dry skin.  I’m really excited about the body lotion!  I’m very good about putting on my face moisturizer with SPF every morning but unless I am planning on substantial time in the sun, SPF generally doesn’t get on my body.  (Keep in mind, sunscreen should always be applied when outside, especially during the hours of 10AM – 4PM when the sun’s rays are the most severe.)  If you are like me, then we have no excuse!  Now we have an easy way to apply it since it’s in a moisturizing lotion that can be applied after a shower- no extra step, no white gooey mess!

Available at most major drugstores or mass retailers.

    8. Steph says:

My worst sunburn came when I was about 7. We went to my granpa’s house on the beach and I got burned so bad on my back that I blistered. Back in those days people were not really concerned with protecting skin from the sun and my folks never put sunscreen on us. Now that I am a parent I always use sunscreen on my kids. They have never had a sunburn.

I got a really bad burn in Florida on spring break in the 1970′s.

    10. Heather S says:

When I was around 20 I went to Florida with friends and had the bright idea of using baby oil/iodine as I heard that will make you have a dark tan. I am fair skinned and I was burned so bad I felt nauseous. It was no fun because for 2 days I had to stay inside out of the sun…which kind of ruined my trip. Lesson learned, always wear sunscreen

    11. Michael says:

about 13, went to Florida for a visit. Out all day fishing on my uncle’s boat. Thought I had a good tan before going. Ended up with blisters the size of eggs. Never want to go through that again.

    12. Denise says:

When I was a kid my grandparents owned a boat and nobody used sunscreen back then so I was always burned after a day on the lake.

    13. Egle says:

My worst born was when I was a little child. We went to the beach on a hot day and I fell asleep on the sand. I was on my stomack so my shoulders and back burnt terribly. I was aching for a long time. Skin was red and burnt, got some blisters on shoulders. Dad said to put sour cream on it (he had learned that from his mother). After some days the tan just peeled off. Although it was a long time ago, I can still remeber the hot burning feeling.

    14. Mary Mclain says:

When I was young, my siblings and I had to help pick cotton. Picking cotton out in the hot Southern sun caused a bad sunburn. I think that attributed to the skin cancer my sister and I had many years later.

    15. JEAN D says:

My worst sunburn was when I was on my honeymoon in Maui. My husband and I thought since it was cloudy out we would be fine to skip sunscreen. We snorkled and paid for it that night with RED backs and the hotel bed killing us! I won’t do that again!

    16. Deborah Wellenstein says:

When I was around 4, my mom and I were at the beach, and we both fell asleep! I had blisters on my back! Ouch!

    17. Alicia Webster says:

I am very, very pale, and I have had many, many second-degree burns in my childhood because my mom never bought any sunblock or sunscreen for me (or even a hat). So the worst burn I had was when I went to the beach and was in the direct sun for over eight hours and I had water blisters all over the top half of my body, including my face.

    18. Stephanie V. says:

Took a trip through Europe after graduating from university and my friend and I spent the day at a beach. I always did well in the sun but their sun was much stronger and I was burnt to a crisp. Ended up not being able to carry my backpack and at a pharmacia asking for help!

My cousin and I went to Far Rockaway Beach in New York City, and I got sun poisoning over my back. For the next few days, I laid in bed on my stomach.with the air-conditioner going covered in A&D ointment and a loose t-shirt.

    20. brandlyn says:

My worst sunburn ever was when I was 12 and my mom took my sister and I to the beach in Florida. I layed out in the sun way too long and my ankels and tops of my feet got so blistered. I hurt the rest of the week. It was so bad, I couldnt even enjoy the rest of the trip.

    21. Jenn S. says:

None of my burns have been too bad really, but my husband got really burnt when he was staying at a babysitter’s and playing in the pool. He had a shirt on but the burn was so bad they had to cut if off of him.

    22. Monique Rizzo says:

I fell asleep outside one time. It was so bad I had blisters everywhere! I still have scars.
      Thanks for the chance.

My worst sun burn happened years ago while visiting friends in California. I trusted one of them to rub the sunscreen on my back and she missed a rather large area around my shoulder blade. Even after the burn faded, I had an uneven tan for the rest of the summer! Thanks for the chance to win the awesome prize pack!

When I was 24, I fell asleep on Coney Island well everyone else was in the water. Then, they rode rides and literally FORGOT ME! I did not reapply sunscreen and it was over 90 degrees. I actually received sun poisoning and had to be hospitalized!

    27. Elaine Kontra says:

My worst sunburn, and I’ve had plenty of them due to my fair skin, had to be the Labor Day weekend I went to Mexico with a group of friends. I was about 23 and a group of us went to Puertecitos in Baja to camp on a beach. I used sunblock and zinc on my face but lost track of time and ended up with such a bad sunburn that I had blisters all over my back except for one small spot that was white because apparently when I tied my bathing suit top I still had zinc on my fingers and touched my back with one of them. That was fun sleeping on the beach with a massive sunburn- I learned my lesson back then, but probably did some permanent damage.

    28. Linda Lansford says:

I went fishing in shorts. I was sitting mostly and today I still have scares from the burn I got

    29. Hannah says:

My sister convinced me to let her bury me in the sand so that only my head was sticking out. The cool sand felt really nice, and I promptly fell asleep. I woke up with my body as pale as ever and a bright red face. Awesome.

    30. shel says:

I have pasty-white skin which never tans and always burns..while I’m careful about being in the sun and normally vigilant about using sunscreen, we had gone to our local water park for the day and it happened to be overcast so I didn’t bother. What a huge mistake. By the time we got home that night, my skin was already blistering and sore to the touch. I had my bathing suit on all day and every exposed area was burning hot to the touch and sore. I had trouble wearing clothes for days after and when I peeled, I looked like a snake shedding my skin.

    33. John S. says:

I was about 20 at the beach. I’d put sunscreen everywhere that would be exposed, but somehow missed my feet. They were so red and hurt and peeled and peeled again and again for several weeks. OUCH!

I was young and foolish. I felt that I never burned just tanned no matter what. WRONG. I spent an entire dayin the sun without protection. I was red hot and sore. Clothes or any thing brushing across my back hurt. I used cold washclothes to cool the skin.It took hours before i was semi comfortable. Wanted to sleep standing up.

    36. Kathy N Scott says:

I went snorkling in Hawaii and I didn’t get sunscreen high enough on the backs of my legs. It hurt to sit down.

    37. Tonya Dean says:

I don’t remember mine but my daughter got a sunburn once that blistered so bad that we took her to the ER. She was with the babysitter and she took them to the pool and forgot about sunscreen. I was so scared. She still has like bubble scars on her shoulders.

I had a pretty bad sunburn as a teenager after a camping trip.

    45. Mandala says:

Worst sun burn ever was when I went to the beach and dozed off while sun bathing. My face and shoulderes were very red and hurt to touch. I had to see a doctor to get some ointment to help with the peeling. It was really bad

    46. MamaKat says:

I can’t remember how old I was, but I do remember getting a sunburn on my back that hurt really bad. I also remember the skin coming off in sheets when it started to peel. Yuck. Why oh why didn’t we use sunscreen back then?

    47. Nikki Davis says:

As a child, I burned so badly that I ended up with puss pockets on my shoulders, arms and legs. We went tubing down a river. I will never forget how badly it hurt. I bathed in Oatmeal baths and used a little trick my mom had for sleeping. You put baby powder in the sheets. Remember how the sheets hurt to touch. Well, the baby powder soothed that pain.

I am glad that we are more aware these days of how dangerous the sun is and protect our children more.

      Thank you for the entry,

      Nikki

    48. Shelley Mitchell says:

I”m fair skinned so every summer when I was little and playing outside my shoulders would always get fried and blistered! Even when I had sunscreen on – it was horrible! It much better now that I am older!

    49. Rachel G says:

I recently went to the beach for a bachelorette weekend and put suntan lotion on in the morning and that was it. By the end of the day I could tell I got sunburned, but it just kept getting worse throughout the night. I was lobster red and my whole front was the worst sunburn I have ever had!!! I tried everything to cure it, but it only eased the pain a little.
