Sarah Palin’s Style

While America may be questioning Sarah Palin’s experience, there is no question that the mom of 5 has got experience in how to put a look together.  While we wait in anticipation to hear more from her in the coming days, let’s take a look at what we do know about:  her style.

Sarah’s Hair:

Gorgeous when down, conservative and very Audrey Hepburn when up in her hair clip (I’d love to see it in a messy updo!).  Half up?  A great balance of modern and professional!  I see no reason for Sarah to undergo a makeover to make her look more “serious”.  Her hair is an extension of who she is: a smart, hot mama.  Nothin’ wrong with looking sexy while running a country.  What do you think?  You can post your opinion over at Total Beauty where they are discussing possible changes in her hair.  Personally, I’d hate to see Sarah go short.

Sarah’s Glasses:

A big topic in the fashion world:  Sarah’s Kazuo Kawasaki designer glasses.  These frameless glasses are retailing for $375 and flying off the shelves.  ABC News reports:

“We began hearing from our authorized dealers and they wanted to stock multiple pairs of the exact same frame and style and color that she had,” said Amy Hahn, the vice president of Italee Optics, Inc., the company that manufactures the glasses.

Her Clothes:

Dressed in modern “power suits” and open-toed pumps, Sarah plays up her femininity.  The woman is not afraid to let her beauty shine for the sake of looking like a “serious politician”, whatever that is.  In her Vogue Magazine feature in February 2008, Sarah says this about her own style:

“I’d say my favorite designers are Patagonia and North Face,” she jokes. That hasn’t kept others from commenting on her appearance, like Washington, D.C.-based blog Wonkette that has called her “the hottest governor in all 50 states and my total girl crush.” Developing a thick skin when it comes to comments about her looks has been part of the learning process. “I’ve been taken aback by the nasty criticism about my appearance,” she says. “I wish they’d stick with the issues instead of discussing my black go-go boots. A reporter once asked me about it during the campaign, and I assured him I was trying to be as frumpy as I could by wearing my hair on top of my head and these schoolmarm glasses, but he said, ‘No, that’s not what I mean.’ I guess I was naive, but when I hear people talk about it I just want to escort them back to the Neanderthal cave while we get down to business.”

Sorry Sarah, this is a beauty and style blog about moms so we are not going to talk issues, we are going to talk go-go boots and red high heels!  And yours rock!
