Rodarte for Target

Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte are the next designers in line to create a limited-edition collection for GO International at Target. Rodarte will launch an exclusive collection on Target.com/go and at most Target stores nationwide on December 20, 2009. The collection of women’s apparel, belts and legwear, will be available through January 31, 2010.

These are the pieces I think could work in a mom’s wardrobe (minus the lacy tights…sorry, those just don’t do a thing for me!):

I have to admit, I’m really digging the Tulle skirt! Not that I want to look my 5 year-old daughter in her tutu but this is a great edgy piece with a ton of texture! It would make for an interesting outfit, that’s for sure!

Denim Jacket: $39.99.
Tulle Bow Top in navy: $24.99.
Lace and Tulle Skirt in navy: $29.99.
Lace Tights in black: $29.99.

What do you think? Will you be picking up an Rodarte for yourself while out Christmas shopping at Target tomorrow? I think I might avoid the lines and go straight to Target.com to see what I can pick up before it sells out!

Swiss Dot Dress in blue: $39.99.
Bow Belt in yellow leopard: $12.99.
Cut-Out Knee-Highs in tan/peach: $9.99.

I have to be honest, this collection doesn’t do much for me. But it might also be the model, that I find kind of creepy. I do like the rose-print dress and the long cardis, but I agree with you about the lacy tights :-)

The model is a distraction for sure and out of all the pieces, these are the only ones I’ve liked. Maybe I won’t even like them in person but it’s defiantly not as pretty as the last collection with Anna Sui.

    3. Oh the model! THAT is why I’ve been having a hard time liking these. But if you look closely, some of the pieces are cute.

This is one of my favorite Target collaborations to date. I like the feminine flourishes, attention to detail, and layering opportunities that this collection offers. I’m loving lace and sheer details this season. I ended up buying a few dresses and the belt in gray leopard. I also managed to get the tights online at midnight PST. Luckily, my Target had the collection out early, and I went to take photos for my review: http://fashiontrendguide.blogspot.com/2009/12/rodarte-for-target-review.html
