Review: L’Oreal Paris HiP Eyeliner

Generally, I am a huge fan of L’Oreal Paris. The HiP products that I have tried have been beyond my expectation.

Unfortunately, this was not the case with the HiP KOHL Eyeliner.

I found that the liner was a bit flaky and dry. I reviewed the Navy blue color and while I loved the color within the bottle…it seemed a bit too dark, almost black, when I applied it to my eyelids. Which is fine…if, that was the color I was after.  But I prefer my navy blues to have a bit more “blue” in them. My first attempt at using the liner left a lot of flakes on my eyes and checks. Of course, that meant I had to reapply my makeup. The applicator brush was very stiff which made it a bit difficult in applying liner to my lower lid.

While I feel that it is my responsibility to share what I didn’t enjoy about the product I have to be fair and offer what I did appreciate.  With that thought …I found this to be a great applicator for a precise thin line on the upper lid.
It was the perfect stiffness for the trendy “cat eye” appearance. The color was long lasting and did not fade or wear off easily. After the first couple of tries to use on both the lower and upper lid…I decided the HiP Kohl Eyeliner from L’Oreal was best for night time and dramatic appeal. Which works just fine for me and my life. After all, everyone needs a little sass for a “date night”. Add the dramatic flair of this eyeliner with a pair of great high heels and a cute little black dress and you are set!

Overall I would purchase this product again but would be more selective as to when and where I would use it.
