    Review: Avon SpectraColor Lipstick

    By Tammy | June 17, 2009

    avon spectracolor lipstick

Wouldn’t it be nice to have one lipcolor that provided you with the perfect shade for every mood you are in?  Avon has created such a lip color called SpectraColor.

SpectraColor is 7 lipcolors in one! From light to intense, dial up high-shine color with sheer-to-medium coverage. By simply twisting the dial at the bottom of the tube, you allow 7 different combination of the light and dark shade to mix.

I tried this in “The Nudes”. The product is more of a gloss than a lipstick as it comes out of tiny holes at the top of the applicator and needs to be more liquid than solid. While I didn’t love the color when dialed up to 7 (too brown for my taste), I did love the staying power this lipcolor had! Plus, the consistency was creamy and moisturizing!

I really wasn’t a fan of the applicator tip. It’s quite large and is hard plastic. It smears as much of the product down the sides of the tip as it does on my lips. A soft sponge tip, maybe half the diameter, would be a far better applicator.

Overall, I’m pleased with Avon’s SpectraColor as I think, in the right shade, it would be a terrific multi-tasking product and I could carry only one lip color instead of 8 in my purse!

$9.50 (currently on sale for $7.99)
