Removing Toe Marks on Shoes

Do you have a favorite pair of sandals you love to wear in the summer but have noticed visible ‘toe marks’ on them? You know, when the interior fabric gets grimy from the bottom of your feet? It’s not as obvious when the shoes are enclosed but when they are your pretty summer sandals, it’s hard not to miss!

A reader sent in a question to me to find out how to remove those stains on cloth-like material. I enlisted the help of Lauren at The Laundress.com. She recommends treating the stains with The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar. For the stains, lather with water and work soap into stained area. Then wash with water. This product can be used for spot cleaning, hand washing or laundering on the go (these bars are airplane friendly!). Available in 4 scents.

I hope to hear if this solution works as I have thrown out shoes for this very problem. If you have another solution, please leave a comment and empower us all with your knowledge!

I’ve found that Oxyclean works too :) Mix it with water – keep it liquid (no paste) and scrub. Beautifully clean!
