Tonight is my first holiday party of the season!  I’m so excited to be spending a fun evening with “the girls”, wearing some festive clothes and makeup!  Since I’ll be heading to the party after my daughter’s Christmas program, I will be wearing a black sweater dress that I scored at Marshalls for $12.99, my black suede boots with stiletto heels, and my navy pashmina.  My nails are painted in Revlon Always Vintage Red and my lipstick will be just as dramatic.  I’ll be wearing Urban Decay Gash, a deep blood red- the color of a great red wine.

I thought it would be fun to find out what the Daily Makeover Beauty Bloggerati will be wearing on their lips this holiday season.  Most will be celebrating in various shades of red but not all.  Read on to see what the beauty experts will be wearing:

The Jet Set Girls (Hope): I wear Party Line from MAC, which I got last year. It’s a bright burgundy, and the closest thing I can wear to red. It’s festive and dramatic. I wore it to my first Christmas party of the season last weekend.

Beauty On A Dime: I’ve sworn my undying devotion to Nars Fast Ride lipstick. It’s a sheer, deep mullberry color that gives my lips a smudged-in, slightly stained look that I absolutely love. It’s a great way to offset a shimmery eye and it’s not as LOOK-AT-ME as a red lip can be.

Beauty Blogging Junkie: Lipstick Queen Medieval Tinted Treatment is my holiday go-to. When I’m not feeling super rouge lips, this one acts as a nice “training red.” The consistency is perfect–it never drags but is moisturizing enough. I pair it with loads of mascara, but minimal eye makeup.

Makeup and Beauty Blog: MAC Lipglass in Nymphette. It’s a shimmery golden pink that looks great with smokey eyes.

These Lips Are Made for Glossin: Oh I’m so jealous of all of you who can wear red lipstick! Since I like to do my eyes up really dark and shimmery for the holidays I keep the lip neutral so I wear MAC lipstick in Angel with MAC lip liner in Strip Down. It is a color that goes with everything!

Makeup Bag: Bobbi Brown Port! A deep plum that looks current and festive.

Talking Makeup: Rouge d’Armani 401 by Giorgio Armani Beauty! This one, made me fall in love with the lipstick all over again. The 401 is a red shade of lipstick with golden yellow undertones, and orange. Works really well with my very light olive skin. The formula is amazing: it’s not too greasy or too thick to apply. And it’s super long lasting!
Product Girl: I just picked up Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine in RD185. Sometimes I feel a little too adventurous in some red lipsticks but this red has a little more orange in it and the golden shimmer to it makes it a great holiday lip color for me. Plus, I think I could get away with wearing it everyday if I wanted to.

Makeover Momma: I would like to say I’m wearing some daring, red shade, but I am generally a clear kind of gal. I am super into the new Too Faced Lip Injection gloss, it goes on clear, but gives your lips a soft pink
color after a few minutes (plus, they look huge!)

Hair Thursday: I am loving Rimmel “Balistic” for a holiday look. It’s a toned-down brick red that gives me the glamorous feeling of wearing red lipstick without looking garish. And the best part? It costs $5!

How about you? What color will you be wearing this holiday season?

Sadly, no pictures! I wasn’t thinking and gave my camera to my husband to take home after my daughter’s Christmas concert. I ended up wearing a black v-neck sweater dress with a low waist, lavender patterned tights, my black suede stiletto boots, a black cocktail ring and a black/ gold Betsey Johnson necklace. It was totally sassy and fun 🙂
