At my December LIVE event, Angela Mupo from Evans and Company Salon in Redlands, CA was our guest speaker. Her mission was to help each woman learn how to creat a fun holiday updo. Angela encouraged the guests to twist, braid and pin sections of hair to create unique and fun looks for their upcoming holiday events. While those in the room who are “Type A” had a challenge with the “randomness” of this look, everyone did enjoy the opportunity to create something special!

Here is a look at their creations:

Holiday Party Updos

As you can see, every creation is different since every hair type, length and texture is different. The combination of braids and buns keeps the style interesting and not too serious. Simply secure each braid or twist with bobby pins and make your own creation!  I think they all did a fabulous job!

The key to making the look more grown up, less tween, is to spread the braid or twist with your fingers to give it a fuller appearance. Here is the style Angela created on Mindy at the salon. It starts as several small buns then each one is softened by pulling the hair out slightly to loosen the bun then it is secured with hair pins to create a beautiful updo.

Another way to dress up your hairstyle in minimal time is hair jewelry:

A simple piece of hair jewelry or a headband can add a glamorous touch to any hairstyle!
