It’s so rare that as a mom you get to get out with your girlfriends. Plans may be set then someone has a sick kid or a really rough day homeschooling and just can’t bring herself to get up and out the door. So, when the night finally comes and you hug and kiss your family goodbye, you need to cherish the time out!
To help you get ready for the event (it is an event if you get to leave the house with a clutch purse, not your usually giant handbag!), here are some fashion and beauty tips from Lilliana Vazquez, founder of CheapChicas.com:
- Forget the jeans and wear something flirty and feminine.
- The key to a successful look is all about balance. If you wear a super short skirt, throw a blazer over your top or add textured tights for a look that is sexy but sophisticated.
- Don’t forget the deodorant! Dove Visibly Smooth will keep you fresh, dry and stubble free for longer while you dance the night away with your girlfriends and it won’t leave any trace of white stains on your outfit!
- Pack in your purse: a flip cam to capture the fun,lip gloss in sheer pink since it looks good on everyone, oil blotting papers which are less bulky than a powder compact and breath mints!
I’d add to Lilliana’s list these tips:
- Wear stunning heels that you can comfortably walk in
- One statement accessory is all you’ll need
- Give yourself a mani/pedi before the big night
- Go bold with one feature: bright lips or smoky eyes, leave the neutrals for the week days!
- Try a new look for your hair! If you normally wear it down and straight, add some curl or clip it up in a flirty style
- Whiten your teeth and bronze your legs the week leading up to the Mom’s Night Out
- Find an outfit that shows your personality and fits well. For my last MNO, I wore an amazing dress from Rachel Roy. I felt comfortable, modern and enjoyed the compliments the dress and I received! (you can check out my look on Mom’s Night Out Compliments of Dove Visibly Smooth)
All these tips can and should be used when you go on a special date with your guy as well! My husband asked, “Why are you looking so hot to go out with the girls?”. While he said it jokingly, it was a good reminder to make the effort to look “hot” when he and I get a chance to sneak away as well- even if it’s just for dinner and a movie!
