I had a lot of fun with my daughter at The Grove LA yesterday. There was a big kick-off pre-event for the Baby & Tween Celebration LA show with Radio Disney, American Girl, celebrity supporter Tracy Hutson (from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), verymeri and other show sponsors. While my daughter thought the drawing to win an American Girl doll was the best part (until she didn’t win…), I thought the Mommy Catwalk was the highlight of the day!
Any expecting mom could enter to strut her belly down the catwalk. Prizes were awarded to the top 3 as determined by the judges.
Here are some of the Mommy Catwalk contestants:

The winners:

Gifting the Third Place Winner

Traci Hutson with Second Place Winner

First Place Hot Mama!

All the winners with Tracy Hutson. All 3 won an organic Hot Mama Gown, the Hot Mama’s Alternative to the generic hospital gown! They also received a Danielle Elizabeth diaper bag and a Snuggle Me’z Infant Car Seat Snuggles!

First Place Winner (with Tracy Hutson) received the $100 gift basket from L’Oreal Paris and A Mom in Red High Heels. She also received a fabulous prize basket from Style Cafe Moms!
There was also a Daddython during the event. I missed getting pictures because Tana and I went shopping at the American Girl Store! The winner received an amazing prize package from Scandinavian Child.
More pictures from the day:

I was honored to start the day off by introducing Tracy Hutson on stage!

Tracy talks about her new book, Feathering the Nest: Tracy Hutson’s Earth-Friendly Guide to Decorating Your Baby’s Room. In the book, Tracy shares her design advice for creating beautiful, inexpensive, eco-chic rooms for baby! Tracy will be signing her book at The Grove at Barnes & Nobles on April 24th. Everyone who purchases Feathering the Nest and brings it to the Baby & Tween Celebration LA show on April 25 and 26 will get in free! And…it gets better! Attend Tracy’s seminar during the Baby & Tween Celebration and enter for a chance to win a 60 minute one-on-one design consultation with Tracy!

Radio Disney emceed the event and kept the crowd going by teaching them the steps to a dance from the Original Disney movie, Camp Rock. They also played musical hoops, hot potato and other games with the kids!

A Mom in Red High Heels with her daughter in red flats with her doll in red shoes….

Tracy Hutson, me and Montana (and Julie, the American Girl doll!)

verymeri and Act Today! sponsored a t-shirt design contest to benefit ACT Today!

Montana designing a T-shirt with the theme “What’s special about me”. She drew a picture of “Mommy”. Don’t you love when your kids do special things like that? I was so proud!

My son was sick and couldn’t attend the event with us so I took a picture of the t-shirt design I knew he would love the most: No Homework!

At the end of the event, all the girls were invited to walk the Cat Walk with their American Girl dolls. Here Montana walks-the-walk with her new Bitty Twin from the American Girl store. A tip for moms with twins or those on a budget, you can by the twin dolls individually for only $55 (or two for $95). Although it looks like you need to go to one of the stores to purchase individually, it’s a great way to get an American Doll for each of your twins at half the price of buying 2 American dolls. Plus, they are just adorable!
This was just a taste of what you can expect at the Baby & Tween Celebration LA show next month. The show is on April 25 & 26 at the LA Convention Center. Get your tickets so you can attend and stop by the Mommy & Me Spa Lounge that I will be co-hosting with Spa in Motion! The event is going to be so much fun!
