Meet Marilyn Bollinger, Founder of The Real Tooth Fairies

Your Name: Marilyn Bollinger

How many children do you have? 2 daughters

Your Business Name: The Real Tooth Fairies

Brief Description of Your Business: Interactive online world and award-winning book series for girls, ages 5-9, where they have a personalized friendship with their own Real Tooth Fairy who affirms each girl’s unique gift and talents through the many personalized and fun activities girls do around Real Fairyland. Also featured in the website is a kindness program that inspires kids to do gazillions of kindnesses and record them online as they move up the Kindness Levels and receive award and charms.

What was your inspiration to start your business? The wonderful memories and together times my 2 daughters and I shared because of their friendships with their Tooth Fairies. My daughter wrote her tooth fairy and she wrote back! From there blossomed a sweet magical friendship that made my girl feel that she was a treasured gift to the world. Her tooth fairy shared wise, character-building lessons of confidence and goal setting and 20 lost tooth virtues that inspired my daughter to become her best and to believe she could do anything! I wanted to share this with other girls and their moms so they can build these special memories in their girls’ formative years. One of my daughters grew up to be the author of these award-winning books.

When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule? I give up sleep like so many moms do to fit it ALL in.

What is your favorite beauty tip? A woman who genuinely loves other people and is interested in them – this to me makes a woman truly beautiful and radiant.

What is your favorite beauty product to bring along when you travel? I am a big fan of Bliss lemon+sage Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream – I rely on it every night to keep my hands moisturized. I haven’t found anything that feels this good.

Tell us about the outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful. I love a classic knit suit – maybe with the just right scarf.

What motivates you to look your best? I don’t like to look in the mirror unless I am looking my best – it doesn’t happen every day though when big deadlines are hanging over me.

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips? This is kind of funny but I’ve learned how to apply lip liner and lipstick while driving WITHOUT taking my eyes off the road. I can actually do lip liner without looking in the mirror – can you tell how proud I am about that little feat? It does save time!

Name one beauty product you can’t live without: I just love Mary Kay’s Oil-Free Eye Make-up Remover. The price is reasonable, it goes a long way, and it’s so gentle on my eyes to clean off mascaras effortlessly – with no stinging or irritated eyes.

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair. Heels – anything comfortable and classic.  I love black suede in winter.

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Lip gloss on top of lipstick is my favorite combo – peach tones for my warm skin tone.

Editor’s Note: Marilyn has created a wonderful product in her membership website, books and Kindness Kits featuring The Real Tooth Fairies!  It’s more than helping your daughter use her imagination or celebrate the milestone of a lost tooth, the products actually help your daughter learn kindness and the rewards of acting kindly toward others.  The website and books will keep your daughter engaged and excited!  My six year old has her first loose tooth and will be sharing with you soon her thoughts on
