When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule?
Ha! I literally conjure up 8 to 10 more hours a day with sheer will! I tell you what; I haven’t watched a movie from beginning to end in over two years!

What is your favorite beauty tip?

  • Ah now then! We all know that sleep and plenty of water and exercise are at the heart of radiant complexions and glowing countenance. Probably not too likely you have time for any of these things. More likely you are substituting coffee and sugar to get you through the day! Try exchanging all but the first cup, and maybe that all-crucial 4pm cup, with Green tea, or a white mint blend. It will give you a little boost and replenish rather than choke those precious antioxidants.
  • Also invest in a top-of-the-line, under-eye concealer!!! You can skimp on pretty much everything else, but with the concealer… you want the best, Cle De Peau is expensive, but totally worth it and will last for a long time.
  • ALWAYS curl you eyelashes. It takes 3 seconds and instantly widens your tired eyes.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion?
What NOT to do!

What beauty/fashion tips will you be sure to share with your daughter, niece or neighbor girl as she grows?
Beauty comes from within. You can wear all the makeup you want, but if you don’t have heart and soul you really are just a fashion victim.  I truly believe in taking pride in one’s appearance and allowing self-expression to shine through with transparency.  BE YOURSELF and let people know that from the first moment they cast eyes on you that you mean business! Everyone is beautiful in their own way; that means YOU TOO!  Of course, if you can afford to buy two of your favorite clothing items, always buy one in BLACK too.

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why?

Krista Beha

Because it was purely to entertain my son on his 2nd birthday!

That being said, I do always return to my classic relaxed black pants, UBER high heels and a Karen Millen or Catherin Malandrino top and/or jacket. You can’t beat a structured silhouette with classic, quirky feminine touches

What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion?
Neiman Marcus.

What motivates you to look your best?
Feeling good about how I look. My mood tends to fall in line with what I’m wearing. If I leave the house in sweats, I’d feel like I just want to sit on the couch all day. When I dress clean and professional it helps my outlook. Wearing bright colors, or things I feel great in helps to boost my confidence. When I feel good about how I look I feel good about handling anything that may come my way. If I have a prayer in my heart to protect my spirits I have lipstick on my lips to protect my smile!

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips?
Good skin care. If you start there, you have a lot less to worry about on top of it. Smile! Every one looks beautiful when they smile.

Name one product you can’t live without:
Eyelash curlers!  Oh, and maybe lip balm (I am obsessed with moist lips) I love anything with calendula in it.

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair.

Heels every time! I pretty much wore high heels until the day I went into give birth! Even though they were caving under the extra gazillion pounds I gained! My favorite pair are a Christian Louboutin knockoff by Bebe, platform sole at the toes and 4inch heel, peep toe and two toned halter strap at ankle. I have them in black and seashell type ivory… they are super simple, stylish but most importantly I can wear them all day with almost no discomfort.

What has been your worst fashion faux pas?
Oh, there have been so many… I think when you are an adventurous soul and have a particular flare for fashion there are going to be many days when you are easily ahead of the curve… however, you will also have FAR TOO MANY days when you will regret posing for the group photo when you were trying out a neon paisley stretch lycra mini dress with plaid bootie pants!

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Which brand/color?

Gloss. I love NARS Orgasm, really long lasting and pretty. For a drugstore brad go for L’Oreal Bare Naturale (really great conditioning and light weight)

Any additional comments on beauty and style you’d like to share:

Often, LESS is MORE… when you are tired and exhausted, do make the effort to brush up a little, but do not try to overcompensate for tired eyes and haggard skin by layering on the makeup, it only makes things worse. A little touch of highlighter and concealer with a brush of mascara can go a long way.
As far as style goes; keep it fresh. You may not need to buy a whole new wardrobe every season, but do take a moment to brighten your look with a change of eye-catching items. Experiment with new images, don’t put yourself in one category forever… life is short – experience the other side of the spectrum even if it is just to find out that hippy sarongs are definitely not for you and you never want to be without your Armani Exchange sweater vest ever again!!

Having said all that, sometimes: MORE is MORE! Ever need cheering up so badly that you have to put every single one of your favorite accessories and clothing items on at the same time, even if they don’t match? Or maybe you just received so many great new pieces as birthday gifts that you want to wear them ALL right away… Do it!!

Editor’s Note: Krista, this was such a treat to read! You really had some wonderful tips and product recommendations! Thank you for taking the time to share them with us! I’m loving those heels that you talked about but I have to know, do you own any in red?

Nice to “meet” you, Krista! I haven’t watched a movie in ages either and I rarely watch TV – I have my two “favorite” shows (LOST and Fringe) and that’s about it!

Thank-you Ms. Editor… and YES of course I have a pair of heels in RED! I wanted to be the ballerina in ‘The Red Slippers’ when I was a little girl… so i have always loved red shoes, especially sparkly one!
