Jen Frates of baby drama

Your Name: Jen Frates

How many children do you have: 3

Your Business Name: baby drama

Brief Description of Your Business: baby drama began in the early Spring of 2006. We are dedicated to creating unique products that cater to a parent’s fashion sense while focusing on the comfort of your child. We incorporate unique and vibrant prints along with plush textures to satisfy the dramatic needs of your little ones. We currently create minkee blankets with coordinating burp cloths and diaper clutches.

Do you get yourself ready everyday or do you find yourself hanging out in jammies for a large portion of the day? I try my best to get “ready” every day yet that definition varies from one day to the next.

What is your favorite beauty tip? I NEED makeup every day yet I’ve really learned to pay attention to the ingredients in all of my products. I try my best to use organic products for the majority of my items. Lip gloss always makes you look and feel better!

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? As teenager I never understood why my mom would insist that I wear less makeup. After surviving those embarrassing years with globs of mascara and way too much fuchsia lipstick I realize that she was right. Less is more!

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why? Dark straight leg Joe’s Jeans and grey Henley top with white tank top underneath. I’ve also fallen in love with topless undershirts as I breastfeed and they cover my tummy. I can’t live without them.

What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion? It varies, but I’m a sucker for Sephora.

What motivates you to look your best? My husband constantly tells me that he thinks I look amazing for having 3 kids. Sometimes that’s a lot to live up to! He motivates me to look my best. I want to look as amazing as he believes me to be.

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips? I try to shower at night and always make sure that I put on the makeup basics before heading downstairs for the day.

Name one product you can’t live without: JASON organic skin care line.

Heels or flats? Flats during “mommy” time, heels during “Jen” time.

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Which brand/color? Lip Gloss and Burt’s Bees lip balm. The winter weather destroys my lips.

Editor’s Note: I love that Jen is motivated by her man! It’s sweet and something we can forget when we are moms! Keep yourself looking good for yourself and for your man! I love reading these interviews and discovering new product lines. I didn’t know about JASON organic skin care and now that I have read about it in reviews, it sounds like a good product line to try! Thanks Jen!

FYI, Jen has started a Holistic Mom’s group called Barefoot Mamas Network that discusses holistic living, eating, parenting, etc. If you are interested in knowing more about it, contact Jen through the website!

Ok, Jen is gorgeous, I agree with her motivation and I am SO glad that she recommended Topless Undershirts! I’m off to order some right now, since I’m still nursing and I think this sounds like a great product! None of my regular shirts are long enough anyway.

  3. Tammy says:

Kian- topless undershirts are GREAT and work for preggers, nursing moms and those just wanting longer shirts!

  4. Kian says:

I ordered two! I can’t wait to try them out!
