    Meet Emily Hill of georgietees.com

    By Tammy | November 26, 2007

Your Name: Emily HillEmily Hill of georgietees.com

How many Children Do You Have?: 4

    Your Business Name: georgie tees

Brief Description of Your Business: Designed to add humor–and kick–to this amazing thing we call motherhood, georgie tees™ are the latest must-have in infant & maternity apparel. Our maternity and infant t-shirts are not only made of the softest cotton but are tagless as well. At georgie tees, we’re all about combining comfort and style!

Do you work from home or do you go to an office? I work from home but sometimes the thought of a cubicle is actually appealing.

Do you get yourself ready everyday or do you find yourself hanging out in jammies for a large portion of the day? Define “large portion.” I’m usually showered by about 1pm. That’s only half the day! With a new baby who defies the idea of a schedule I tend to get ready whenever I can, which means a shower here, hair done there, and makeup if I’m lucky.

What is your favorite beauty tip? CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine from Bath & Body Works, an eyelash curler and L’Oreal Voluminous mascara in Blackest Black.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? She didn’t teach me much about things like how to apply makeup or how to style my hair but she did teach me the importance of inner beauty and developing a healthy self image. Thanks, Mom!

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why? A great-fitting pair of jeans and a favorite t-shirt are my most favorite things to wear. I love jeans, I love t-shirts, and when I love what I’m wearing I feel good about myself. Not that I don’t enjoy wearing my own pair of red high heels, but you’ll find them paired with my favorite pair of “dressy” jeans!

What motivates you to look your best? My husband loves me no matter how I look, whether it’s first thing in the morning or nine months pregnant, so it’s all self-motivation that pushes me to stay in shape. No help from him! It comes down to the fact that when I look good, I feel good. Plus, I struggle with the thought of getting older so fear is a pretty good motivator as well!

Any time saving beauty tips to share? Get a really cute short haircut. Saves a ton of time!

Name one product you can’t live without: Only one? Hmmm…I swear by L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara but I also can’t live without my TIGI’s Catwalk Root Boost and Physician’s Formula Mineral face powder.

Heels or flats? Heels in all colors, shapes, and heights!

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Lip gloss in at least three different colors in my purse at the same time.

Any additional comments on beauty and style you’d like to share: When it comes to fashion and style I’m more on the conservative side. My advice? Make sure your best friend has a flare for what looks good so she can help you expand your style horizons. Without LeShan, my best friend and business partner, I would never think outside the “closet” (aka “box). Thank heavens for best friends who are also style mavens!

Editor’s Note: Emily has a great sense of humor that reflects in her life, as you can tell by some of her comments. A sense of humor is an important beauty secret. It brightens your face, shows your gorgeous smile and keeps the frown lines away. It’s easy to take things too seriously in motherhood so try to incorporate your sense of humor into situations daily! OH, and Emily does have a really cute short haircut!

Somehow my original comment went missing! Probably forgot to hit the Submit button (wouldn’t be the first time). Love Tammy’s comment about humor keeping the frown lines away–just one of many great side effects! Linked to this profile for “fashion trend tuesday” on our blog at http://georgietees.blogspot.com/. Go red high heels!

Thank you so much for featuring my dear friend Emily, I also have the total pleasure of working with her on my website where she’s a contributing editor. She’s an outstanding business woman and still manages to be a Super Mom, and always look chic and gorgeous. I look up to her constantly, she’s inspiring to me in so many ways.

Her tees are awesome - every expecting Mommy needs a little humor! Congratulations Emily on all your success - you deserve it!
