Your Business Name: PosePrints

Brief Description of Your Business: PosePrints is a personalized stationery company specializing in look-alike caricature cards. I started PosePrints with my oldest daughter, Jen, and she is our artist. PosePrints’ customers can visit our website and create stationery with their own custom caricatures (by choosing from among hundreds of facial features and accessories), which we then print on high quality card stock.

What was your inspiration to start your business? My daughter Jen’s drawings were my inspiration! She and I talked for years about starting a company together before we actually came up with the idea behind PosePrints. We wanted to share her drawings and stationery in a unique way.

When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule? I try to lead a balanced life, so I have to get a lot of work done late at night and early in the morning. Every day is really different. All of my children are now grown and out of the house, so that helps! I owned a modeling agency back in the mid-90s, and it was an entirely different experience running a business and having kids at home.

What is your favorite beauty tip? I think it was Anna Wintour who says women should always have “smooth hair and manicured nails.” I try to follow some version of that — most of the time!

What is your favorite beauty product to bring along when you travel? Lots of face lotion. Flying always dries my skin out, so I try my best to keep moisturized.

What motivates you to look your best? I feel better about myself when I put effort in to how I look. I am definitely more confident when I spend some time on my beauty routine!

Name one beauty product you can’t live without: Mascara!

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair. I wear flats during the day, and heels in the evenings. A pair of dark brown leather boots are my current favorite!

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Do you have a favorite brand/color? Lip Stick. I wear “Twig” by MAC every day.
