The Professor of Protection
5 Minutes for Mom
When do you make time to run a blog with your busy MOM schedule? Wow, that’s a daily juggle. Most of the time I spend working on my blog is in the early morning hours when the twins are asleep. The weekends are a great time to catch up with posts and reviews since my husband and the twins get a chance to sleep in.
What is your favorite beauty tip? Drink a lot of water and always, always wear lip gloss and mascara! Sunglasses cover a multitude of sins and sweats are never fashionable just comfortable.
What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? My mother is the Queen of lotions and creams. I remember seeing the pink bottle of Oil of Olay on her nightstand. If it reads “wrinkle fighter” it will be in my mother’s makeup counter. She taught me that prevention was one of the best defenses to wrinkles. I wish I could tell you her age but I want to continue living…take my word for it she looks at least 10 years younger then she is.
What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why? I have quite a few outfits that are my favorites. Because I a stay-at-home mom…jeans are my normal dress. But I love to dress up. My favorite outfit, right now, is a cute short brown dress with an argyle pattern on it. I love to wear it with my brown boots.
What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion? There is absolutely no way I could choose just one. I enjoy shopping to much to have a favorite. I enjoy sites that are user friendly, with visual appeal and carry a wide variety….of course, a bargain never hurt either.
What motivates you to look your best? My upbringing. I was always taught to dress your best, put your best foot forward and carry yourself with dignity and class. I love to look good for my husband and it makes my day when my girls say I look pretty.
As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips? Get up a little earlier then your family so you have the time to enjoy your shower, fixing your hair and putting your makeup on without the stress of being needed.
Name one beauty product you can’t live without: Lash Blast Mascara by Cover Girl or Stiletto Mascara by Maybelline.
Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair. Heels, hands down! I love shoes that are very high, very sexy and generally show my toes. I like shoes that are a little edgy and just a tad racy. I like to give my stay-at-home mom image just a bit of spice for my husband’s sake.
What has been your worst fashion faux pas? Oh, that is a funny one. I am sure I have made a lot…after all I am a child of the 80′s. I would have to say my made-to-order, custom Vans that had unicorns and green corduroy. I thought they were very cool at the time.
Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Do you have a favorite brand/color? Either and Both! Nope…I am not prejudice. I give equal opportunity to all brands. Although I do love the smell of the lip gloss and lip sticks carried by Lancome, Kiss My Face and The Body Shop.

Any additional comments on beauty and style you’d like to share: I know there are people that have a very select style but I guess I am rather eclectic in my likes and dislikes. I enjoy being a woman and all that it entails from makeup to fashion to jewelry to shoes. I love it all. I believe beauty can be feminine, strong, unique and glorifying to God all at the same time….guess that is why my blog tag line is “Faith, Family and Fashion”. I would love to have the readers of A Mom in Red High Heels swing by The IE Mommy, say “hi” and visit awhile.
Editor’s Note: Christine is a true fashionista and has a heart as beautiful as her look! She is always giving away cool things and sharing great ideas!
