Brief Description of Your Business:
I am RockerByeBaby – “Everything in STOCK for your baby to ROCK!” And if we don’t, just ask… I got ya covered. We love custom orders and always do our best to make the customer happy. I started out teeny tiny, just making things for the boys. I got so tired of rubber ducks and teddy bears in pastels… It was time for something new. I got SO MANY compliments that I had people asking the buy the blankets my kids were using! Slowly but sure I perfected my sewing skills. I made lots of new items, new designs and new patterns and RockerByeBaby was born. Here we are now, it will be 2 years in August. We still maintain a 100% positive feedback for over 500 customers from all over the world. We also do alot of giveaways and donations so even the unfortunate can have a chance to get something unique and comforting for their little punk rockers. Even the not-so-unfortunate like to dabble in RockerByeBaby… keep your eyes peeled for these celebs with some One of a Kind goodies from RBB, custom made just for them! (Ashlee Simpson, Tori Spelling, Gwen Stefani, Jessica Alba, Brooke Burke, & Jennie Garth)

When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule?
I have NO idea… I’m still trying to figure that one out. As of right now… we have 7 Crib Bedding sets that I’m working on plus regular maintenance to the shop, listing new items, re-listing, packing, shipping and of course… sewing!!

That also doesn’t factor in the blog that I do. (PunkRockerByeBaby.blogspot.com) Its a mommy/baby – giveaway/review blog… Every monday we host a new etsy seller and one lucky reader gets the prize. Its a great way for sellers to get exposure, and for buyers to see items they may not run across through a search. Running the blog takes almost just as much time as the store. Throw two toddler boys in the mix and by 10pm, I’m out cold

However, I have to give credit where its due. I’m very lucky to have supportive friends & family, and if I need help, they’re always there for me. And my fiance, Zaq helps ship my packages, fluff bumpers and even helps pin blankets sometimes… if I ask really nicely

What is your favorite beauty tip?
Every girl needs a sundress for every day of the week. Basic cottons are key… you can work in them, play in them and sleep in them if your desperate. You can dress them up with a clutch and pumps and dress them down with flats and a diaper bag. And if your home with the babies and get a random visitor, or have to run out the door, you always look more than acceptable no matter how busy you were that day.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion?
That no matter how broke we were, we could always look like a million bucks. My parents split when I was 13 and we didn’t have much at all. But we always looked good. No one ever knew how little we had because my mom was such a great shopper. She would buy us all brand new summer clothes in the winter. Basics that never went out of style… Tommy Hilfiger jeans, Ralph Lauren, etc. And Summer stuff in the winter. It was always when the huge clearance sales happened at the good stores like Macy’s and Von Maur. Talk about getting the most bang for your buck

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why?
Tough call… I would have to say my Black cotton baby doll dress with my long sleeve black and white skull and crossbones shrug from Eyescream Industries – its really easy to accessorize. And it has wide straps so in the summer I wear the dress alone or with a t shirt, and in the winter I wear it with long sleeves and tights.

What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion?
Etsy… totally etsy. I used to love wandering around the mall in search of the coolest stuff… and now Id rather spend an hour on etsy. Glittersniffer has the best eyeshadows; Smarmy has the best shirt reconstructions; My Girl Rocky the Zombie hand paints zombie t’s and they’re to die for; CrossbonesCouture makes super rad clothing, purses and hair accessories and glamasaurus makes the most amazing necklaces… and the list goes on and on and on… I could spend hours telling you all my favorite shops.

What motivates you to look your best?
Zaq does. Most the time I don’t care… and even 15 minutes is 15 minutes away from babies or the shop… and most the time i put little to no effort into it. But when I do its always because I want to look cute for him. There’s nothing better than him coming home and saying, “Hey baby! You look cute today!” –I love it

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips?
Wax your eyebrows… don’t pluck them. It takes 10 minutes and last a couple months… Way less time than you would spend plucking your brows every week. I look like a total different person with freshly waxed eyebrows. The simplest thing for me that makes a world of difference.

Name one beauty product you can’t live without:
I can’t… I have two… #1 Clean & Clear morning burst face wash … its the best AND its tingly and refreshing in the morning… #2 Glittersniffer eyeshadow mix pack. I love throwing on a little color and sparkle to my eyes when I’m about to run out the door.

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair.
Flats – Converse… I have about 15 different pairs… pretty much one for every outfit… High tops, low tops… slip ons… and knee highs… My favorite pair? Zaq got them for me… and they’re black with cute pink and gray girlie skulls all over… True Love right there in shoe form

What has been your worst fashion faux pas?
My mullet… blame my mother. When I was in 5th grade, for about 2 years i had the worst mullet in history. it was long and curly, and I had spiky bangs. I wish I had a photo to show you… (and the rest of the internet? HA yeah right.. haha)

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Do you have a favorite brand/color?
Ya know, I used to be a lipstick girl… gold sparkle with black liner (yeah – another faux pas from my past) but now, I stick to Burts Bees . I do like their Shimmer one though.

Having kids has changed my life… having the kids and a full time work from home job has changed my style… and doing this interview has totally inspired me to get my act together. Just because I work from home doesn’t mean I can’t look the part of a full time mom working anywhere else. Its time to make a change Thanks for the inspiration.
