Meet Alexis Ahrens of Baby’s Little Log Book

    By Tammy | January 21, 2008

Your Name: Alexis AhrensAlexis Ahrens of Baby’s Little Log Book

How many Children Do You Have? 1 son, just turned one yr.

Your Business Name :  Baby’s Little Log Book

Brief Description of Your Business: A handy book helping new mothers confidently settle into life with Baby.  Easily track the details of baby’s schedule so you can anticipate baby’s needs.

Do you work from home or do you go to an office?  From home

Do you get yourself ready everyday or do you find yourself hanging out in jammies for a large portion of the day?  I get ready in the morning on most days.  On days when I work out in the mornings, I usually stay in my workout clothes until Lucas goes down for his nap and I can get to the shower.

What is your favorite beauty tip? If you want long-lasting lipcolor, but don’t like the long-wearing lip paints that crack and peel, you can line and fill in your lips with lipliner and brush over a shimmery berry shade of eyeshadow. You can add a touch of gloss if you want.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? Not much.   She always looks put-together, but claims to know nothing about fashion.  We are both fans of “What Not To Wear” and are learning a lot from the show.

What is your favorite outfit in your closet and why?  Nice jeans with a mainly brown and blue patterned silky, long-collared blouse with my fitted, pale blue fine-weave corduroy jacket.  I pull the collar of the blouse over the lapel of the jacket for interest, and wear dark brown pointed-toe boots.  I like this outfit because it’s a nice blend of casual and dressy.  The fitted jacket emphasizes my small waist, while drawing attention away from my post-baby hips that still won’t fit into my pre-baby clothes.  The flowing blouse hides the baby belly.  The boots create a longer line since I’m on the short side.  See how much I’ve learned from WNTW?

What motivates you to look your best?  I feel more confident and happy when I know I look nice.

Any time saving beauty tips to share? On days when I don’t have much time to get ready, I just smooth some cream blush over my cheeks and eyelids and put on lipstick and mascara.  It’s super-fast, and I feel a bit more put-together than if I had skipped makeup altogether.

Name one product you can’t live without: I love my Neutrogena foaming face cleanser!  It removes makeup and cleans my face without drying.

Heels or flats?  Heels, but small ones.

Lip gloss or Lip Stick?  A very moist lipstick

Editor’s Note:  Alexis, I love What Not to Wear also!  You have really learned a lot!  You rattled off all the right reasons to wear your favorite outfit! :)  Moms, be sure to check out Alexis website if you are in need some organization in baby’s schedule!

Yeah Alexis!! Wow, great beauty tips! I really could use some help in that department. If my hair is clean that’s usually a step in the right direction for me ;)
