Makeup can make or break your look. Wearing beautiful makeup is like adding the final touch of sizzle to your already stylish look or it can be distracting, taking away from your beauty. You know what I’m talking about; you’ve seen women wearing makeup that makes you go, “hmmmmmm??”.

Makeup matters. It is used to enhance your natural beauty, giving you a bonus dose of confidence! When it doubt, it’s always wise to go with a classic, sophisticated look. Something that is glamorous but not obvious. The goal with makeup is greater attention on you, not your eye shadow.

To get a look that is perfect for day, use neutral shades for eyes and cheeks and glossy lips…pretty and subtle. But, let’s talk about evening. Let’s have some fun!

When you head out for the evening, whether it’s girl’s night out, date night or something a little more formal, like a romantic evening wedding, your makeup should reflect the mood of the event. Smokey eyes or red lips are winning looks for evening.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary! For our evening out, I rocked a gorgeous red lip with soft, subtle eyes! I wanted my lips to take center stage. The most gorgeous red lipstick I own is Mary Kay® Creme Lipstick in Black Cherry. It’s deep, dark and interesting. I feel much more confident in it than a bright cherry red. The added advantage is the blue undertones help my teeth look whiter!

I left my eyes simple, piling on tons of Mary Kay Lash Love mascara in I <3 Black.

I felt pretty for this night of celebration! Compliments flowed from my family and, maybe it was my imagination but I felt like I received extra attention while out on the town. Maybe it was just the bold lip or the smile I wore? Either way, I’ll be wearing this look again!
