Can a Low Maintenance Mom Pull Off Jennifer Aniston’s Hair Style?

Kimberly wrote to me requesting a hair makeover suggestion from the Neil George Salon stylists. Kimberly has long wavy hair and begs to keep it low maintenance.

Kimberly says:

I’m a 36 year old mother of one (a 2-year old) and I haven’t changed my hair style in over 20 years. It’s time to do something a little different, not too drastic, but new. I’m tired of the ponytails and braids, but still want the option of pulling back at least the front. No bangs please!!! UNLESS, their long…like down to my chin, if that works? Would the hairstyle that Gwyneth Paltrow (long Bob) look good on me or maybe a little bit of long haired, layered look (like Jennifer Aniston)?

I’m open to almost anything, except bangs! I’d even add a dash of color if that looked good although I’m not so sure I would keep the color up. My goal is a casual, low maintenance (I don’t own a blow dryer or curling iron…probably blasphemy for any hairstylist!) style.
Thank you so much,
Kimberly

As always, I asked the expert stylists at the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills to chime in with their thoughts:

Go for the Jen Aniston cut, for sure! That will be great for your face shape, and be much easier to maintain than the Gwyneth bob. As far as color, you’ll feel much brighter if you get a few highlights- nothing too drastic, just subtle sun kissed highlights. Again, think Jennifer Aniston for your color, too. These will grow out beautifully over time, and you can honestly just get them done 3 times a year because they do grow out so well.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest in an inexpensive blow dryer, and a decent round brush- these styling tools will be easy to use, especially with your cut, and make you feel all the more polished and glam.

There you have it, the experts agree that a low maintenance mom can pull off the Jennifer Aniston hairstyle! I hope you do Kimberly! You’ll look great and feel like a whole new woman after having the same style for 20 years! Can’t wait to see it!

    1. I agree! Kimberly has beautiful hair and the soft, natural wave would look great with long layers, even if she never blow-dries it! Subtle highlights are the perfect way to brighten things up a little without making a commitment to color.

Kimberly will you send in an ‘after’ photo? It will be great!

    2. So true, she’s look awesome with Jen’s hairstyle. I’m excited about this makeover :)
