    LUMENE VITAMIN+ ENERGY COCKTAIL

    By Tammy | January 6, 2008

Does your skin feel dry and tight due to the cold winter weather? Mine does. It gets dull. I have to change my skin care routine in the winter. I feel like I need to constantly apply moisturizer.

While cruising the skin care aisle at my local drugstore, I was looking for something to change the way my skin was feeling. Another moisturizer or night cream just wasn’t going to do the trick. I needed something more potent. My eyes scanned the shelves. I’ll admit, I skipped the major brands I was familiar with since I had not found anything in past winters that met my needs.

Lumene Vitamin and Energy CocktailMy gaze landed on a brand I was not familiar with…Lumene. The product my eyes rested on was called Lumene Vitamin + Energy Cocktail Pampering Drops. ( Yes, this cocktail is for your face, not a drink) AHHH, sounded so nice. That is exactly what my face needed… pampering! I scooped it up, then hesitated at the price. It was about $17. I hated to spend that much on a drugstore brand and product I knew nothing about and couldn’t sample. But the word “pampering” got the best of me. My skin really was needing it! The product promises to maintain the well-being of my skin in many ways:

    1. Softer more vital skin in an instant.

    2. Help keep the skin supple and prevent fine lines.

    3. Protect against free radicals.

I brought home my 1 oz bottle and tried it that evening.

The formula consists of antioxidant vitamins and omega fatty acids from Arctic Cranberry and Cloudberry (how exotic! For the full list of ingredients, click here). I had to shake well to mix the two formulas. It looks like oil and water in pretty pink and yellow colors. The smell was sweet and pleasant with a hint of tart cranberry. The feeling was FANTASTIC! From my first trial, I was in love with this product. It was smooth, not oily. I felt like I had a protective layer on my skin. Within 2 days use, my skin was glowing and happy.

I use it twice daily. I do apply moisturizer after use. (You could use without moisturizer if your skin doesn’t need the extra moisture.) This product is the winter help my skin needs! You can read other reviews on this product at TotalBeauty.com.

I also love what it has done for the back of my hands which, typically, are very dry in the winter. It has restored the skin to healthy and smooth. I don’t have to apply lotion as often.

Upon researching the Lumene brand, I found them to be based in Finland. Lumene captures the power of natural Arctic berries and plants and puts them to work in advanced skin care solutions. They offer a full line of skin care, body care and cosmetics, as well as skin care for men!

Purchase your Lumene products on line at CVS.com as they are currently being offered at 25% off! They are also available at your local Target store (not online).

I will be trying more products from Lumene and plan on sharing about them! In the meantime, I want to spread the joy my skin feels! I’ll treat one reader to a full size 1 oz bottle of Lumene Vitamin + Energy Cocktail Pampering Drops if you promise to send in your opinion after you use it! Leave a comment below if you’d like to try the product.

Contest ends at midnight PST January 13, 2008.

I would love to try this–my skin is so dry due to cold weather and some chronic health issues. My face used to be baby smooth and soft; now it’s icky and dry. Thanks for the tip (and I’d be very honest on how it feels–I feel like I’ve tried everything, including those $80 moisturizers from dept. stores!). I really do hate to buy stuff if I can’t sample it first, especially if it’s expensive. With money being tight, testing is a must! That’s one reason I buy from Sephora–they will allow you to return anything for a full refund, even if it’s almost used up! They really want you to be happy with the products. Can’t wait to find out if I’ve won!

It sounds marvelous! Before I had my son I had oily skin but now my skin has done a complete turn around and nothing I use seems to rid me of this dry skin. Winter isn’t helping either!
