One product I never go without is eyeliner. It defines and widens the eyes. Whether you want to go for a sultry or casual look, there is a liner for it all. I wanted to give L’Oreal EXTRA – INTENSE Liquid Pencil Eyeliner a try to see what kind of a look it would achieve. Immediately out of the package, it was difficult to get it working. Perhaps it had been the shelf a long time, but after rubbing it on a tissue a few times, it started to work.
It claims to have “the glide and intensity of a liquid with the precision of a pencil.” I would have to disagree! You really have to work with it to get it on. The color is often inconsistent and pasty as if you were using a crayon. After one or two uses, I needed to sharpen it which made the outside of the pencil very sharp and I had to be careful at what angle I used when applying so that I didn’t scratch my eyelid!
Needless to say, I would not buy this product again nor would I recommend it! Sorry L’OREAL, but this one is a no-go!
NO MOM VALUE:
- difficult to use
- sharpening ruins the pencil
- color is inconsistent and pasty
- way over priced at $8.49

Editor’s Note: I sampled this product as well and while it wasn’t faulty in the ways that Tracy experienced, I found the liner to be much too thick and hard to apply, proving how inconsistent the flow of the product is! Of those who reviewed this product on L’OrealParisUSA.com, most seemed to find this product faulty. Tracy and I agree that we wanted to love it but it simple is not worth the investment.

I like Mac pencil eyeliner.
Oh, I wanted to try this. I’ll stick to my locally-made eyeliner then.
I have been wanting to try a new eyeliner. It is good to know that more expensive doesn’t mean better.
I axed pencil eyeliners from my routine years ago because of the difficulty I had with application and blending. Instead I use an eyeliner brush with eyeshadow. I usually use kinds that are compatible with water so it lasts longer. I believe you get a cleaner line and a more professional look using this method…IMO. It takes some gettin used to and a fairly steady hand to pull off, but I think anyone could do it.
ok well, i tried this product and i actually loved it, it worked really great, and didnt have the problems that you did, except one,A HUGE ONE. After the tip was used up that was it, there was no more, i just spent 8 bucks for a small tip of eyeliner, and now its gone , i was trying to make a video on my makeup, so i tried it before hand to see its quality. and it worked beutifully, but then the tip broke and i thought no big deal, cept there was no way to bring the tip out, and its plastic so i cant sharpen it, so thats money wasted
well i tried it and it really worked it became one of my fave eyeliners maybe it was on a shelf 4 a long time or mabye it was just dried out or sumthing well it worked for me just saying
