Keeping Your Jeans Tucked In

Winter brings boots. Boots are chic and classic. You’ll spot them every winter. The problem is, how do you keep your jeans tucked in so they don’t gather around your knees? I’ve compiled a list of solutions to try. All options work best with a straight-leg jean as there is less fabric to manage. Keeping Jeans Tucked into Boots

  1. Do the 80′s tuck and roll…fold the hem of your jean’s leg over tightly and then roll up tightly from the bottom.
  2. Fold the fabric over and safety pinned the excess.
  3. Fold the fabric over and wrap a rubber band around the hem.
  4. Wear skinny jeans…but ONLY if you have the body for it!
  5. Wear elastic jodhpur straps worn by equestrians. ($3.90)
  6. Re-purpose your belly-ups from pregnancy…they tend to run a bit short so you’ll need to use them with your longest jeans.
  7. Wear knee socks and tuck your jeans into them before slipping on the boots.
  8. Buy BOB Calf Sock Jeans-no baggy knees, no broken zippers

To keep my jeans tucked in my boots
(way back in the 80′s!), I would use those “mitten clips” that little children used to keep their mittens attached to the cuff of their winter coats. Worked great!

I discovered a great new product called Jean Straps (www.jeanstraps.com). They are removable stirrups that attach to the bottom of your jeans via a garter clip. They are super easy to use and they only cost $9.99. The garter clips lay flat so unlike the metal clips that I have seen other products use, they don’t add extra bulk in your boot. Love them! Just bought a bunch for stocking stuffers.

Hooray! There are finally a few products now for keeping jeans in boots. My favorite is JeanGrabbers (www.jeangrabbers.com.) Very reasonably priced ($9.95, no sales tax, cheap shipping!) and super cute designs – darling prints, clips have an embossed boot on them, and each pair has a different metallic finish (copper!? Very cool.) The material is kind of a silky soft elastic, and very comfortable. Check them out, see what you think. (Speaking of XMas and stocking stuffers, they offer a 3-pack at a reduced rate!)

Try Boot-Smart, a specially designed elastic and velcro stirrup which slides under your heal and fastens around the ankle. It traps the jeans in place and is really comfortable. No hard clips or anything to rub you. I wear mine with Uggs, knee-highs, wellington boots etc. Order from http://www.boot-smart.com
