She may have split from Ryan Seacrest (a break-up I am secretly mourning!) but Julianne Hough keeps moving on with her great smile, style and hair!
Julianne has fabulous hair. Her cut is absolutely perfect for a busy mom! It’s stylish, modern and versatile. But, there is a word of caution about this cut that stylist Julia Papworth shares. Keep reading to find out how to achieve this look and not get the “soccer-mom” look.
A great hip haircut right now is Julianne Hough’s. After cutting her long locks she has been rocking a blunt shoulder length bob. When asking for this haircut from your stylist request a cut slightly shorter than a traditional bob, about an inch above the shoulder. Keeping the front long, ask for long layers around the front of the head moving to slightly shorter layers around the back for volume. The key with this haircut is there is no fringe – the long pieces in front are simply styled off to the side. This is a fabulous low maintenance style that will look good on almost everyone.
Julianne has been known to wear this style both straight and curly. To style straight, apply Anti Gravity Volumizer by Kevin Murphy throughout the hair and blow dry section by section with a paddle brush. Make sure not to curl the ends under or this style will look slightly “soccer momish.” When dry, use Unite Tricky Spray Finishing Wax to hold the choppy style while still allowing it some movement.
If you want to wear this style curly, after blow drying start form the bottom of the head and mist on Oribe Superfine Hairspray to medium size sections and then wrap them around a one inch curling iron, making sure to leave out the ends. Work your way around the head and let the waves cool before running your fingers through them to separate. Flip your head back and spray on some Oribe Apres Beach to give the waves texture and shine and you have a piece-y and perfectly undone style.
