I totally dig Gwyneth’s attitude. My wife stopped caring long ago and it is very frustrating. After the first kid (we have two) she became a mom on a mission and stopped being a wife. She gained at one time over a hundred pounds. She lost some of it but is still about 50-60 pounds over her minimal ideal. She hasn’t made an attempt at all in about 5 years. Anyway, I don’t find her attractive anymore. I tell her this and her response is that I am superficial. That I should love her unconditionally. I have, for almost 15 years. But it would be nice to be with the person that worked so hard to make sure she could catch me in the first place. So yea, I admire women who have Gwyneth’s attitude. And it’s why I live vicariously admiring attractive celebrities. Stupid huh?
First, Celebrity Legs, I don’t think it is stupid for you to admire attractive celebrities. We all do. Second, I am so sorry that your wife has given up on herself. It’s sad that she is missing out on the opportunity to care for herself. I know that too many moms put themselves last on the priority list and they suffer. If a mom treats herself well and cares for herself she is a BETTER mom and wife. I think her accusing you of being superficial is a defense mechanism and if she was completely honest with herself, she’d admit that she would like to look more attractive too. Thank you for sharing. I hope it encourages other wives/mothers to think twice at how their appearance truly does matter in relationships.
