Skin Benefits of Green Tea

Green Tea helps fight acne and with Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer, you can add needed moisture to your skin at the same time that you are fighting acne (a great multi-tasking product)! If you’ve used acne medicine in the past, you know that it can leave skin dry and tight. While I’ve personally not experienced this with Proactiv products, I have experienced it with other brands. When a product is too harsh, it will strip your skin of it’s own essential oils causing flakiness and it sets the oil glands up to work harder to compensate for the loss of natural oils. This, of course, causes you to have more oil production and yes, more acne. It’s a delicate balance!

Finding a product that doesn’t strip your skin of important moisture is key (like Proactiv from my experience). Finding a good daily moisturizer is equally important! Acne prone skin needs an oil-free moisturizer that helps the skin keep it’s balance.

Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer has minerals and botanicals like extracts of green tea, iris and macadamia nut that help your skin retain it’s own moisture, while regulating oil. The formula is light but manages to keep your skin soft and moisturized. According to Livestrong.com, “The topical application of green tea may help in the treatment of acne. Green tea may assist with with detoxification and its antihistamine-like effects may contribute to clearer skin, according to the website Acne-Rosacea Times. The anti-bacterial substances found in green tea also may help fight acne.”

During the dry winter months, this moisturizer is not enough for my dry, break-out prone skin. However, in the summer it works fantastic!

If you tend to have oily skin, this could be the perfect moisturizer for you! It will keep your skin hydrated while helping fight acne.

They say you can use your tea bags on your acne after you’ve had your cup of tea too! Just set it on your face after it’s cooled.
