@Mia No flat ironing at all?? That is not the way the treatment should be done, unless it was being done as a mini-treatment to control frizz for 3-4 weeks without affecting curl. The full treatment should be blow-dried on medium heat and then flat-ironed. I would recommend you call the salon first thing in the morning and speak with the stylist and owner/manager. You can review the proper application technique here: http://www.youtube.com/user/globalkeratin#p/u/3/JNgM73OEiVE

Please check back in and let us know what happened!

@Kendall The best way to care for a keratin treatment is with that company's shampoo and conditioner. I would suggest you return to the salon where you had the treatment to purchase that. They are specially designed to protect and prolong your results, and often contain a small amount of the keratin and botanicals in the treatment itself, so they enhance it with each use.

I have been using sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner by Loreal since my keratin treatment. However, when I looked at my old conditioner, I could not find anything with the word "sulfate" in the list of ingredients. Is it ok to use a conditioner (or shampoo) as long as it does not have anything specifically labelled as a sulfate in it or should I only use it if it says "sulfate-free?"

@Kathy I am sorry to hear of your experience; I've never seen anything like it. If it still curls, that is a good sign that you may have had the gentlest treatment, which lasts the shortest period of time. The frizz baffles me, as I don't see how doing the treatment could possibly add frizz. The best way to increase the fade-out of the treatment would be to use clarifying shampoos, but then you must be sure to sue a very moisturizing conditioner to make up for the good things that can strip from your hair. Or maybe ask that a more senior stylist re-do the treatment, if you're willing to try that again.
