I love New Years Eve and everything it symbolizes! It’s the celebration of one year ending and the anticipation of another beginning. I love reflecting and planning with my family; making lists, feeling renewed and excited!
It’s been years since my husband and I have actually gone out on a New Year’s Eve but I’m totally OK with that. It might sound boring to some of you but for us, hanging out around the fireplace and enjoying yummy food that we all participated in making, wearing party hats and blowing on noise makers at midnight is just perfect for us!
But, that doesn’t mean I want to sit around in my jammies either! It is a celebration, after all; an occasion to feel fabulous and special! So, I packed up my new makeup from Kohl’s Beauty Department and headed to the salon for a mini-makeover. Using two key products, I asked Angela Mupa of Evans & Co. Salon to give me the perfect stay-in New Year’s Eve look. Once the makeup was on, I simply had to have my hair done as well! I think the look is fabulous. How about you?
MAKEUP: The eyeshadow is from the LORAC Sweet Temptations Eye Shadow Collection. It is a beautiful 4-pack of shadows, with packaging designed to look like chocolate bars (see picture below). It’s brilliant packaging! We used 2 of the palettes (shown above) to create my eye look. To recreate this look with high quality shadows, give LORAC eyeshadows a try!
The blush is the most beautiful shade of rose with gold flecks. I love this blush. It’s CARGO Powder Blush in the shade of Mendocino. New Year’s Eve needs a bit of sparkle, right? This blush is a gorgeous way to wear it!
HAIR: Angela added a ton of volume at the crown of my head then did multiple twists, bringing all of my hair to one side and gathered it in a ponytail. She then braided a faux piece and secured it around the ponytail holder. After a few curls, the look was complete. It is fun but not too glam…perfect for a night with friends and family.
OUTFIT: For a casual evening at home, I’d opt for trendy, but comfy, faux leather leggings and a tunic. A bit of bling is added with a necklace. Flat boots complete the look.
Bring on New Year’s Eve! I have my look planned out!
