Yes, Barbie, the doll. My daughter talked me into getting her another Barbie today with a pack of 4 very hip outfits to change her into. I’m OK with Barbie. She’s cool. I know many women have issues with the unrealistic body type and oh-so-perfect beauty. Don’t hold it against the doll. She’s changed! Really! In 1997 Barbie’s body mold was redesigned and given a wider waist.
Secretly, I want her hair! Have you seen it on the packaging? The drawings are beautiful…highlights placed just right, always full and long (you know how I want my hair to grow out the layers…it’s taking forever and a day!)! She’s way prettier on packaging than in “person” (doll, that is) just like I am when Sarah photoshops my headshot!
But that’s not the point of this post…
Whether you are a fan of Barbie or not, she has some pretty solid advice on fashion:
- A touch of sparkle works with everything
- Confidence is the most fashionable accessory
- Be ready for anything, no matter what you’re wearing
- Never underestimate the power of the perfect outfit
- It’s all about the shoes
Take it to heart, even the doll knows, fashion says plenty about who you are!
BTW, did you know there is a M.A.C. Barbie?! She comes with her own M.A.C. makeup case and is edgy and trend-setting, just like the makeup line! Jamie, if you don’t have this doll, you need to get one!
There are also Juicy Couture dolls! The Juicy Couture Beverly Hills G&P Barbie® dolls are miniature Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, the designers and co-founders of the sensational Juicy Couture fashion empire. You just can’t get anymore swanky than that!
So, now I’m obsessed with Barbie for her beauty, good fashion advice and amazing ensemble of dolls to collect! I had no idea! Now, if I could find one in a great pair of red high heels, I might actually start collecting.
