It’s back-to-school time, Southern California! I willingly share that I AM NOT READY!
Seriously, don’t think I’m odd, but I am not ready to send my kids back. Summer went by way too quickly and I’m just not ready for the early mornings and routine days. I’d rather sleep till 9 and head to the beach…or mountains…or mall!
The best part of this time of year is the back-to-school shopping, no doubt! I love the promise of a fresh start with a new wardrobe. Your kids can be anyone they choose! Remember, clothes are a reflection of your personality and the same is true for those under age 18! Give guidance and keep it modest (Seriously, can we keep it modest? Seeing what young girls wear these days is a bit uncomfortable for me…I want to cover them up and tell them to keep the mystery alive but that post is for another day.). Let them have a say in what they wear this school year; it is helping them develop a sense of who they are.
I guess I do get to keep the fun alive with a trip to the mall and so do you! Don’t worry, I have a recommendation if you are in Southern California. Montclair Place (formerly Montclair Plaza) has all the right stops to make your shopping trip fun! I promise! If I can drag my 15 year old son along and leave with him smiling, you can do it too! TIP: get to the mall when it opens (hours are 10AM-9 PM) as it is not as busy and it will reduce your stress level.
Here is a look at our shopping trip to MP:
Welcome to Montclair Place!
You’ll find places in the mall to let your kids play, like the cars for small children, or photo booths for older kids. Be sure to checkout the Montclair Place Kids Club that happens on the third Saturday of each month.
You’ll also find massage chairs for us moms throughout the mall!
We spent some time (and money) in Aeropostale. They have the most amazing sales! Tees for less than $10 each, shorts were priced 3 for the price of one, many items, including backpacks and shoes, were up to 60% off and there was an entire back room of clearance items. I walked out spending way less than I expected on a bunch of clothes to start the new school year.
We also had to hit up Claire’s (of course) for accessories. My son did his part by doing some Pokemon magic and scored us a 30% off deal! (Be on the look out for Pokemon signs in stores) I even found something I had to have for the new school year…a hat that reads, “Choose Happy.” Isn’t it cute?
The mall has the usual necessary treat stops like Starbucks, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and of course, restaurants to replenish your energy. The best food option, in my opinion, is Food Truck Tuesdays! Each Tuesday evening from 5:30-8:30, you’ll find an assortment of food trucks outside of Barnes & Noble. Yum! Check the calendar to find out which food trucks are coming next Tuesday!
Regardless of how you feel about your kids going back to school, you have to get that shopping done. Hit up Montclair Place for food, fashion and family fun!
Before you go, print the special offer coupons for extra savings!
Make a fun day of it, be silly, enjoy a special treat or two and no one leaves stressed (my kind of shopping)!
Thank you to Montclair Place for sponsoring this post! All opinions stated are my own.
