How would it make you feel to know that you have the power to look 5, maybe even 10, years younger without painful, invasive procedures? It would be pretty awesome, right? The truth is, you do have the power if you have the desire and put in the effort (we all know that good things take work and effort). What I am going to share with you may just change your life. Read on…
Facial Magic is a book that teaches you step-by-step exercises, complete with pictures to guide you, that will help tighten and lift your face. Now, if you are in your mid-40’s like I am, you may have already noticed that gravity is taking a toll on your face. Personally, I have suffered from migraines for years. I also have blue eyes that are extremely sensitive to light. The combination of these two have really messed with my face, in particular, my brow line. I have the nasty “11” lines between my eyes and literally have muscular knots above my eye brows which give me an angry look and are developing into a hooded lid. Not glamorous and not something I am willing to let happen if I can fight back.
Surgery is not an option for me for so many reasons.
Facial Magic is.
What I love most about this book is that the author, Cynthia Rowland, began searching for solutions for her own aging features. I appreciate that she knows what it feels like to be aging. She researched and found an alternative to surgery, injections and invasive procedures. She says, ” In hardly any time at all, I saw positive lifting and tightening of my entire face and neck.”
Just like exercising your body, for firmer, stronger muscles, exercising your facial muscles will give you firmer, stronger muscles. Facial Magic has 18 proven exercises to lift, tone, strengthen and tighten facial muscles that will help your face regain a more youthful appearance. I’m loving the idea and am going to start with the area of my face that has aged the most: my brow line. Can you relate? Here is an exercise to get us started. This is from the book and courtesy of the author for editorial purposes:
Week 1 – Exercise 2 Upper Eyes (Gloves are required)
The frontalis muscle (forehead muscle) runs vertically over the forehead. You use it every time you lift your eyebrows. When this muscle begins to lose its tone, the frontalis begins to “pool” into the orbicularis oculi (the circular muscle that totally surrounds the eye). That motion affects the levator palpebra superioris (the muscle in your upper eye area). The eyelid begins to look hooded and then “the tired look” sets in. This exercise will increase the distance between your eyebrows and eyelashes, giving you a more refreshed appearance. You will feel the difference immediately!
Sometimes you may be concerned that you are creating small horizontal lines above your eyebrows when you perform this exercise. The reason that lines may initially appear is because the forehead muscle has lost its tone. As you progress through the program these lines will begin to diminish, and by performing Exercise Eleven they will be greatly improved.
1. Relax your eyebrow area and then place the three middle under your eyebrows.
2. Drop the palms of your hands flat against your face.
3. With the pads of your fingertips directly under your eyebrows, push your eyebrows upwards and slightly outwards.
4. Hold your eyebrows in this position with your eyes open.
5. Push your eyebrows down against your fingertips while holding your eyebrows high, and hold the contraction for five (5) seconds.
6. Remove your hands from your face.
7. Breathe in deeply through your nose, and exhale through your nose.
8. Repeat the three remaining sets holding the contractions for ten (10) seconds each. At the seventh second, close your eyes, keeping your eyebrows held high.
9. Remove your hands from your face. Breathe in deeply through your nose, and exhale through your nose.
Most likely your eyebrows responded immediately and you saw lifting. Perhaps you could see the difference for only a few seconds but it was there. This exercise will definitely lift your eyebrows, and the difference will become Facial Magic™ permanent over the next few weeks. Soon your friends will begin asking if you have changed your hair or your makeup routine. They will notice that something is different, but they will not be able to distinguish what the change is.
Special Eye Circle Exercise: Use your ring fingers, apply eye cream to your under eye areas using a dabbing motion.
Start by placing the tips of your ring fingers under your inner eyebrows and continue outward and then inward towards your nose until a full circle has been completed. Circle both eyes simultaneously, gently, with your ring fingers for one hundred times.
This easy exercise is performed very quickly. It is performed using a very gentle motion. No tugging, pulling, or stretching of the skin is allowed. It is an excellent way to increase the circulation to your eye areas, which helps to alleviate the appearance of dark circles under your eyes.
Gloves are required for most exercises and one pair is included in the purchase of the book.
The book guides you through learning the exercises and when to add new exercises. It is recommended that you take a good close-up picture of your face before you begin the program and throughout so that you can compare the pictures and see the results. There are also Weekly Affirmations, which I love! To me, this is an added bonus!
I’d love for you to try out the Facial Magic exercise program and let me know your thoughts. Like I said, this is an idea that I can get behind! Please! Help me look more youthful…I’m not an angry person and I don’t want to look like I am!
