When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule?
I am lucky to be able to work from 8 to 3 while my children are at school and then the again after they all go to bed.

What is your favorite beauty tip? I grew up in Florida so I am always trying to make up for bad habits with lots of sunscreen.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? My mother is the type of person that cares for everyone else first, but she always looks beautiful because of her carefree style. I love the look of relaxed beauty that seems to happen naturally. That is my mother’s signature look.

Tell us about the outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
Anything from Caroline Long. Her fit is great, the design is beautiful and dressing is effortless.

What motivates you to look your best? I guess everyone always feel better when they are somewhat put together and when that line is crossed it can feel down-right miserable. What really motivates me is to have a look that is not distracting. Looking good and being uncomfortable is never a good option and yet wearing yoga pants on a rainy day can start to feel like a bad idea when you arrive at work and everyone is looking fierce.

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips? Having a go-to outfit – for me it’s a fresh white t-shirt and my favorite blue jeans.

Name one beauty product you can’t live without: Perlier’s Black Rice Face Serum and Stila Illuminating Concealer

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair. Comfortable heels for day, compromising heels for night and any pair of Matt Bernson sandals.

Any additional comments on beauty and style you’d like to share: There a many-a-mornings when I am rushing my children out the door with bagels in hand and backpacks flying. With hectic schedules and not nearly enough hours in the day, it is easy to run though the day on fast forwards. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Take this time to shake up your routine and spend a little extra time with your kids, your sisters, mothers, friends and you. Honor the mothers’ whose daily routines’ have been halted by cancer; the women who have to spend the day away from their children while they receive treatment. Honor these women by taking time to appreciate the good times. Take some time to turn the music up, grab your babies and dance in the kitchen . . . . in your red high heels. Editor’s Note: Katie filled out her interview in October but due to the other interviews already scheduled, her’s wasn’t published until today. I think her advice to honor women in your life and those affected by cancer holds true year round, October is just a good kick in the pants for us to get started again!
