I am super excited to share this interview with you! Molly Sims is an inspiring, successful woman who is sharing her secrets with us in her new book. As a mom, supermodel, business woman and now, author, Molly has learned by trial and error how to look and feel her most fabulous. Here is a sneak peek:
Tell us about your book: In this fun and practical guide, I interweave stories from my life with my own tried-and-true tips, best-girlfriend advice, tell-it-like-it-is honesty, and insider insights from the best in the business of beauty, health, fitness, and fashion.
What was your inspiration to write your book?
I’ve always been the one all my girlfriends call for advice. I have literally tried and done almost everything in the name of health, beauty, wellness and fashion. As a model, I was blessed to work with incredibly talented hair, makeup and fashion people and I was like a sponge (and their guinea pig) soaking up all of their tips, tricks and advice. I love sharing all my insider tips and secrets and writing a book was a perfect vehicle to share.
Any tips for balancing your career and your personal life?
I firmly believe in the mantra of work hard, play hard. Finding that balance is the sweet spot. My biggest tip is to keep a calendar. Don’t let time get away from you. Schedule in the fun, too!! Make dates with your significant other and treat yourself. I love to make lists to keep myself organized and on task. Where do you want to be in the next year? Really think about it and strategize how to reach your goal.
What is the best advice you can share with other moms striving to have a successful career or business?
What are your core priorities? Build around that first. Think outside the box… Perhaps starting work earlier, later, or try negotiating working from home a few days a week. Network and don’t be afraid of telling people what you want. You have to put it out there in the universe. How can your dream job find you if you are afraid to ask for it?
Tell us about the outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful.
Black blazer, tank top and jeans with black pointed heels. Minimal makeup with red lipstick and my hair in bun wearing a cross body bag. I could kick some serious butt and feel great doing it in that outfit!!
What motivates you to look your best?
This may sound a bit vain but, the better I take care of myself, the better I feel. For me it goes hand in hand. Look good to feel good. Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels!!
Name one beauty product you can’t live without:
Triple sec from dry bar
Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair.
Heels. I just got a new pair of Manolo Blahniks. Black suede, kitten heel gladiator lace up. Love them!
Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Do you have a favorite brand/color?
Hybrid!! I’m totally obsessed with Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick by Hourglass. It is the perfect red/orange color.

Any additional comments on beauty, style or success you’d like to share:
Dare to be different!! My Momma challenged me to not just go with the flow or fly with the flock. There were a lot of rules growing up in the South- but my mother encouraged me to be who I wanted to be. While other moms were encouraging their girls to stay inside the lines, my mom encouraged me to draw my own.
