When do you make time to run a business with your busy MOM schedule? Honestly, it’s something I’m constantly struggling with. Currently, I do my best to wake at 6:00 am, shower and dress, check e-mails by 6:45, wake kids at 7:00, out the door by 8:00. Three mornings a week I have 3 hours without kids, in which I scramble to get as much done as possible. After school, it’s homework, library, park, the usual stuff before bath, dinner and then kids bedtime. From there I work again from approx 8:00pm to midnight, lately I’m working til 2:00am and still getting up at 6:00.

What is your favorite beauty tip? Honestly, it’s pretty cliche but time tested…….Mositurize, Drink LOTS of Water and find that genuine emotion within your being that brings a Smile! That and a witty sense of humor will make anyone a shining star. I have long held the belief that a heart-felt smile is every womens’ best accessory. Smile!, it’s an easy best face lift.

What did your mother teach you about beauty and fashion? This is such a great question because I had never really thought about it before. (Or, I choose to avoid it?) The thing I most remember about my mother growing up was how Beautiful she was and is. I always thought my mom was the most beautiful mom of all. I remember her hair was always Elizabeth Montgomery (“Bewitched”), Perfect! Her lipstick, always a frosted cotton candy pink of perfection. Eyes, shadowed “robins egg blue”, lashes from a box. My mother was defined by her beauty. While my early years were spent in admiration of her looks, I realized at a relatively young age that her beauty was not my gift. From this I have to say that what I learned from my mother about Beauty and Fashion is not to base who you are or what you want to become on what you look like. It just might hold you hostage. My beauty is in my humor, my wit, my empathy and my belief that the road to getting where you want to be can be as curiously challenging and rewarding as the arrival. Finally……stand up straight and hold your stomach in!

Tell us about the outfit that makes you feel confident and beautiful. Currently, I have 3 things I love to pull for those “Snap” moments. One is a fabulous Red Patent Faux Alligator Jacket. Then there’s the diva like leopard “Tory Burch” cardigan. And finally, I absolutely love and adore my Luscious Over-sized, Ivory Cashmere Shawl-collared Asymetrial Wrap Sweater! Each one is fierce with jeans, black pants, boots or heels.

What’s your favorite online site to shop for beauty or fashion? Without hesitation I can tell you that “LockandMane.com” is the ultimate resource for all things Fab and Fine when it comes to your hair. If you’re looking for the very best of the best when it comes to Hair Care and accessories, they are the source of sources. If I’m wanting a special treasure, I turn to “OrangeandBlossom.com” for uniquely fresh and vintage-y rare wish-list, what-nots . When it comes to fashion, I need to touch it. I’m very tactile and demanding when it comes to the details and quality. I can buy on-line if it’s every day sportswear but the good stuff needs to be savored, respected and tailored!

What motivates you to look your best? My family. (lame, I know.) BTW………….I rarely actually look my best. Sometimes my best is just making it somewhere on time.

As a mom, “Me Time” is limited… what are your time saving beauty tips? “Wrapadoo” is a HUGE time saver because it allows me to get on with things. With a “Wrapadoo” fitted snuggly on my head, I can multi-task with the best of the best. Washing hair, applying make-up, waking kids, feeding kids, dressing kids, making calls, writing press releases, all the while, knowing my hair is perfectly prepped for product and ready for a high shine style. I actually have a customer who confessed that she squeezes in crunches, squats and push-ups with her “Wrapadoo” on! Crazy but true! Even my quiet time is spent laying in bed, laptop running, “Wrapadoo” on. (You know what I’m talking about, Tammy!) There’s something so additively serene about it that you don’t want to take it off! It’s my little “Calgon Moment”, just upstairs from the kids.

Name one beauty product you can’t live without: I Love my “Bobbi Brown” color pot in Pale Pink #11. I use it on cheeks, lips and a tiny dab on my lids. Without it, I pale away.

Heels or flats? Describe your favorite pair. I pretty much spent my entire childhood in Figure Skates so heels are like “Home Sweet Home”. However, with two little ones it would be a laughable joke (especially to those who know me) to say I wear heels. Can you imagine volunteering for the school “jog-a-thon” in heels? I’m hands on, feet running at all times. Favorite pair???? not sure I have a favorite pair right now.

Lip gloss or Lip Stick? Do you have a favorite brand/color? Depends on the time of year, the Season. For Fall it’s an earthy toned lipstick, topped with a sheer gloss. Winter, a deeper nude lipstick. Spring would be my “bobbi brown color pot in pale pink”, topped with a shimmer gloss. Summer is pretty much tinted gloss only.

Great article! I have a Wrapadoo & LOVE it. When I first got it, I thought, “Oh what a neat idea and a cute style.” That was BEFORE I put it on. Once I did, I couldn’t live without it! I get cold easily, so Wrapadoo is a perfect way to stay warm when I don’t have time to use the hair dryer for 10-15 minutes. I work on the computer or make breakfast with it on, then only have to blow dry for a few quick minutes once I’m near ready to go. I have given several as gifts and my friends say the same thing: so soft, so cozy! What did we do before we had one? They are the best at-home-spa treat you can give yourself. Definitely worth the investment as a luxury item you deserve to own! Thanks, Cynthia!
