Rock N’ Roll is forever. It’s edgy, raw and fun. My first love was rock and it remains in my life today. My many fond memories include: driving down the freeway in my beat-up old Celica with Tesla (Love Song...remember that one?) cranked to the max; seeing Aerosmith for the first time with my brother; training for a half marathon listening to AC/DC to keep my momentum going; attending many, many rock concerts while dating my husband before our vows; dancing to “our song” from Led Zeppelin (Thank You) at the wedding and continuing our love for rock music and rock concerts to this day (we sang LIVE on stage with Sammy Hagar!). Bon Jovi is my favorite and has it’s own channel on my iPhone Pandora. Our children love rock music as well though we are encouraging Disciple instead of AC/DC! Once rock is in your blood, it’s always in your blood!
Part of the fun of rock n’ roll is the fashion. I love the edgy, no apologies look of rock n’ roll. Just look at Steven Tyler, right? This is a high-heel, stud-wearing crowd and I embrace the chance to dress for a rock concert, though I’ll admit…minus the bare midriff that I would have flaunted years ago! Today, I go for a more conservative look but it still embraces the Total Rockstar Look:
Full hair. Yes, VOLUME!
Lots of metal accessories: Chain bracelet and thick metal necklace
The best nail colors with a rock vibe are red and purple. Black is too punk. Pink is too pop. A giant statement ring is a great finishing touch.
Complete the look with fabulous red high heels. The floral detail brings in a touch of sweet to the edgy rockstar look.
Your turn! What’s YOUR total rockstar look? How do you pull it off? Post a picture on A Mom in Red High Heels Facebook wall and share! I can’t wait to see!
