I started using retinol. Really what I wanted from the dermatologist was a type of chemical peel to get rid of some dark spots due to breakouts but it costs as much as Botox and so I had a choice to make. Botox won.
So, I started a retinol formula that also contains hydroquinone. Neither one is good for me but both of them are effective. Don’t start with me. I use natural products when I can but some problems require a little bit of tough love.
As promised, I peel. It’s not horrible but it is annoying. To exfoliate and remove the dry skin (so I don’t get more breakouts), I started using the new Proactiv Deep Cleansing Brush. It feels like a massage on my face (LOVE!) and helps remove the flaky skin.
“This cleansing device pampers the skin by helping to delicately whisk away impurities like sweat, oil and dirt. The unique bristles vibrate at a range of 4,200 to 5,200 rpm, helping to stimulate surface skin renewal, leaving skin feeling refreshed and revitalized. The soothing vibrations work with the skin’s natural exfoliation to provide a pampered yet effective cleansing routine.”
