Confession of A Mom in Red High Heels
By Tammy | April 28, 2009
With encouragement from my husband, I bought the smokin’ hot red high heels from Nascar that I showed you a couple of months ago. The sexy patent red with black rubber detailing gave the shoes a unique place in my closet, only to be worn on just the right occasion. When I received them in the mail, I found the car tire tread on the sole of the shoe amusing and fun.

Once I tried on the 5 inch heels I knew they would be used on a rare occasion. Not only were they heavy, the were H-I-G-H (tip over high…). I knew a mom who fell in 5 inch heels and suffered nerve damage in her mouth. Be warned, anything over 3 1/2 inches is hazardous to wear and likely not covered by your insurance! Trust me, you don’t want to crash like Carl Edwards at Talladega!
With a $12.99 price tag (marked down from $90), I decided it wasn’t worth returning the shoes and would reserve them for the bedroom (*blush*)! There, I said it. I wasn’t going to wear them out so I might as well get some use out of them!
Until one day, not so long ago, I did decide to wear them out on a date with my hubby. It had been a while since we had been out and I figured dinner and a movie was minimal walking. I wore the heels, packed my wedge heels in case of emergency, and casually walked out to my hubby. He smiled from ear to ear. The shoes are sexy if nothing else!
But…
Walking across the parking lot, I held onto my man for support. I felt ridiculous! My feet were at such an odd angle, my back felt swayed and I felt ready to topple over. Was everyone staring? I tried to maintain composure but swore to change shoes as soon as I was back to the car. Somethings are better left in the bedroom…

I’ve always admired women who were able to wear ridiculously high heels!
I realized I can buy a pair or two even if I can’t walk in them. For the bedroom. *wink*

Gwyneth Paltrow I am not. While I’ve heard that for public appearances, she puts the shoes on right before she walks out. She looks far more graceful than I felt!
There are actual classes you can take to learn to walk in high heels…maybe I should invest in one. I’d love to wear a pair of killer high heels once in a while and feel confident doing it!

Haha! Glad you enjoyed my “painful” experience
I just couldn’t believe how heavy the shoes were and the angle in which my foot was expected to walk. Lesson learned…
